I grew up a headbanger in the late 80s, early 90s so obviously I hated the fukk out of them but guess what? Depeche Mode still sucks ass all these years later.

Great band. My personal favorite are "Told You So" and "John the Revelator".

Stopped reading there. To me the key to greatness in any band is if the music still sounds fresh and creative after a decade or so. DM passes the test, but like it was said earlier bands like The Cure, The Smiths, Joy Division/New Order were better.

Meh, I never got into that music scene. The Cure were the only ones I could listen to, I absolutely loath DM, they come off as f*ggy music to me.

Grew up on Maiden, Metallica, Testament, Dio, Sabbath, Megadeth, Pantera, Priest, etc but since then my musical tastes have expanded but not to the degree of liking gay music...sorry.

Not true, we'll ok maybe that Blasphemous Rumors song I posted, but most of their music sounds fresh, poppy and upbeat, even today. Great late night highway driving music.

I believe we called it "mope rock" at the time.

The thing about those bands, especially The Cure and The Smiths is that the musicianship was superb and the songs were well crafted lyrically. They oftentimes hit a melancholy tone but it was more than simple teenage angst.

you're entitled to your opinion pablo .. I may think some shit you listen to is 'fg music' .. it's irrelevant .. to me, dm kicks ass .. if you don't like it, you don't like it .. not everyone's going to like everything .. I find good tunes in mostly everything .. rock, pop, classical, instrumentals, country .. I don't discriminate .. they all have their gems, hidden or not .. if it's good it's good .. it's all subjective anyways
