That was the idea from the beginning.

Democrats didn't care if ObamaCare worked, or didn't work, or what the details were. They didn't even bother to read it. They didn't even know what was in it.

All that mattered was that it would lead to single payer sooner or later because, once you give something to people for free, you can't take it back.

If it held up to all the bullshit promises, awesome, Obama looks like a winner. Well, it didn't and he (and the Democrats) flat out lied to the faces of Americans all over the country about reducing premiums and keeping your doctor and keeping your insurance. But even then, that's a win, because again, once you get people hooked on something (in this case, 'free' healthcare), you can't take it back.

That's why more and more people are on welfare then ever before. You think its because there's no jobs? Lololololol.

....singlepayer isn't free though as it would be paid through the taxes we pay. We would get the same coverage for cheaper once the private insurance companies are out of the way for everyone but the richest Americans, who can still afford top of the line coverage through the private insurances. Cut out the middle man and negotiate directly with healthcare companies.

Obamacare was the middle way between singlepayer and healthcare as it used to be under the system of fraud in 90s/2000s, true. While you are right that Obamacare didn't reduce premiums, you fail to mention that the plan GOP wanted would raise premiums even further by exacerbating the entire issue altogether through tax cuts for the rich and massively slashing medicare/medicaid at the same time for elderly/poor/children/disabled. This is where you swerve into "bullsh!t" land by being a slick little fox picking and choosing the details that suit you. That's where I come into play and rip your "bullsh!t" into tiny little microscopic pieces. Carry on as you will.

He'll rail against commies and Stalin while ignoring the fact that the VA is a socialized healthcare system.

Only those with a death wish actually use the VA.

Because it is socialized healthcare.

I think he seems to want a system where he doesn't have to pay a single penny for healthcare and wants everyone to pay out of pocket for everything.. If only everyone had hundreds of thousands sitting around. Even something simple like insulin shots for diabetes can be very expensive.

Broken hand or acl tear? 10k per day in hospital. Feel free to lose your house over an acl tear. Want a kidney transplant? Give up 1 kidney to pay for your other kidney.

And if you get something like cancer, you would have 3 choices: lose your house fighting cancer, start a gofund hoping to raise $250,000 ( ), or give up & die. UK is very happy with those choices until it impacts him or a loved one down the road.

Everybody has been paying more as time goes on... youre not even old enough to know it but health insurance prices have been spiking since the 90s. Obama surprisingly slowed its rate of growth even without cooperation from half the country.

I was paying less before Trump took over. I was also paying less before George W Bush took over. Those before Bill Clinton were also paying less. Those before George HW Bush were also paying less. Those around before Reagan were also paying less for insurance. Your point?

Premiums increased 43% from 2008-2016.

They increased by 100% from 2000-2008.

This doesn't factor the subsidies most Americans qualify for and receive, which substantially reduce costs. They were non-existent pre-ACA.

Single payer >>>>>>>>>> ACA >>>>>>>>>>>> what we had pre-2010.

Single payer is the only affordable way out. Negotiate directly with Healthcare companies for equipment, hospitals for services/procedures and pharmaceutical industry for medicines. No other way out of this one.

If you ask most Europeans, they would vastly prefer their system over what USA has. I would too.
