I remember when Dwight was regarded as all time level player.

Nowadays his stock has plummeted.

Wasn't Barkley way better than Malone in the playoffs?

Malone is the most overrated player ever. Bob Ryan discusses this.

O'Neal>Hakeem>Barkley>>>>>Malone>Robinson

But guys, Barkley never won a ring! Therefore he's clearly one of the worst players in the history of the NBA.

Regarding barkley v hakeem.

All you need to know is that barkley polled more mvp votes than hakeem in 87, 88, 90, 91, 92 and 93, despite having less wins than hakeem in most of those years (in 89 hakem finished 1 place higher in voting)

Even if you weren't around at the time, or can't remeber, doesn't it seem pretty clear that Barkley was generally regarded as the better player until 94?

EDIT: And he was still better in 94 till he got injured. And talk about revisionist history... hakeem never embarrassed Barkley in the 94 POs, Chuck was a walking corpse by the end of that series. He could barely get up and down the court.

It wasnt especially rare to have people list Barkley as the best player other than Jordan even when Magic was still going strong.

Exactly...Very Few Posters Here Saw Barkley Play Live In His Prime.

Charles Was Considred By Most 2nd to MJ as the Best Player in the League 1988-1993.

Why do people still prop up Karl Malone knowing he knocked up a 9 year old?

Depends.

Hakeem > Barkley 84-85-86-87. Barkley > Hakeem 88-89-91-92-93.
Hakeem > Barkley 93-94-95. Then 96-00 Equal.

Hakeem was the overall better player by a slight margin.

Shaq was not better than Prime Hakeem or Prime Barkley. He was better after they where washed up 96-00-02 onwards
