There's a bill floating in Congress now to end tax breaks for stadiums apparently. I'm down with that. What do ya'll think? Or is this more of a local gov issue?

It's not bad. The idea that it's gonna stimulate enough growth to cover the loss of revenue is delusional and everyone knows it.

However, we really need to reduce taxes in general and it's a start. But they also have to reduce spending.

Lower tax rates and regulations make projects more attractive and these projects need individuals to work on them. It makes perfect sense.

And again, not every business has a CEO making bank. Stop taking the big guys and generalizing it across the board. Every company isn't Apple, Exxon, GE, etc. There are tons of small businesses and medium sized corporations out there. I want it to make it easier for companies to start up, create a product, expand and create jobs. I want it to be easier for the self-employed to be able to work on their own.

Why do companies move jobs overseas?

Yeah, totally agree but if we're just not going to give a shit about the debt then I say go for it and cut taxes.

It gets better. Trump wants to raise the lowest individual tax rate from 10 to 12%! Enjoy your shit sandwich, working class Trumptards.

Middle class families will get a negligable cut... provided they live in the right state. If they live in blue state, their taxes might go UP.

The big winners: billionaires like Donald Trump! Who would have guessed it? Not only will his individual taxes go down by 4%, so will the taxes for his corporation. When Cheetoh finally drops dead, Ivanka and company won't have to pay an estate tax either.

Trump has balls, I'll give him that.

Consumer demand creates jobs. Nothing else.

Hence why Amazon continues to expand like a mofo despite being HQ'ed in a high tax, high COL state.

Was the demand for Amazon there before Amazon was created? Or did it only exist when Amazon was created?

Was the demand for TVs there before TVs were made or after it was created?

Making it easy to create a product or a business that consumers can then demand is what creates jobs.

Hawker, how would global (total) demand for American products and services go up because we lowered taxes on top earners in only this country? That's the only way more jobs would be created.

Amazon and TVs specifically? Of course, no... because they didn't exist... but the demand for the driving force behind them was there... the convenience and price of Amazon yes... the ability to be completely captivated with no effort on the consumer's end of a TV... yes.

op sounds about right

we don't know a whole lot right now because we don't know the actual income brackets

that being said

it appears the losers are the 100k-200k/yr (filing single) earners who live in states w/ high income tax. everyone else "wins"

Right. So let's make it easy for people to bring their product and/or service to market so consumers can demand it. That's my whole point. Why put in higher taxes/regulations that are barriers to this?

Increase the incentive for foreign investment.

Lowering expenses for corporations means lower prices for american products which makes it more competitive on a global scale.

There's no evidence that high taxes are a burden on innovation. If the demand is there, companies will innovate to stay relevant. Simple as that.

Look where the top 5 tech hubs are located.

The Bay Area
Boston
NYC
Seattle
Los Angeles

They're among the most expensive places to live and do business in America. They're also highly desirable and magnets for talent.
