Celtics, because Jeff Green is a letdown...

Pretty interesting when you think about it, although I see no reason why Rose would start over IT. He's exclusively a 1-on-1, 2-on-2 slasher type of player (tell me if I'm wrong). So that Lebron can Point Forward the ball while Rose waits for his moment?

Celtics, and quite easily. Amir+ Horford is MUCH better than green+tavares.

And wade vs bradley is a wash impact wise imo

Edit: And rose wont be starting rofl, Isaiah will

Edy Tavares has no chance of being on the final 15-man roster. It is going to be hard enough for Cedi Osman and Ante Zizic, and those guys are considered the Cavs' two best under-23 prospects.

A guy like Tavares who has spent the majority of his career in the D-League, even though he is still only 25? If he had a great camp, he might be able to sneak in there but I highly doubt it.

Sorry it messes up your positional chart, op.

Edy Tavares is the Cavs only hope against the Warriors.

Unless you’d rather have another wing scrub instead of a legit backup C (which the Cavs desperately need)

Yeah, he's not making it.

He'll be the best player on the Canton Charge though. Also, Rose will be the backup when IT gets healthy. 100% guarantee it.

Here's your 15-man roster:

Isaiah Thomas
Dwyane Wade
Jae Crowder
LeBron James
Kevin Love
JR Smith
Derrick Rose
Tristan Thompson
Kyle Korver
Jeff Green
Richard Jefferson
Channing Frye
Iman Shumpert (trying to trade him)
Cedi Osman
Ante Zizic or Jose Calderon

That is 16 guys who will make the cut before Tavares. They have too many players and too few roster spots as it is, before you try and add Edy. Again, I apologize that the reality conflicts with your narrative, though.

Why would Jose make the team?

He may not, but there are a few reasons they might...

1. Until IT gets back, Rose would be the only PG on the roster (not including LBJ obviously). They did the same thing with Kyrie to start the season last year and it really hurt the second unit, imo.

2. They just signed him to a vet minimum deal and teams don't like to sign guys and cut them before they even get a chance to suit up once.

3. He is apparently a very good lockerroom influence and could maybe offset some of the egos this team has (Derrick Rose being at the front of that line).

4. Future veterans may think twice about signing in Cleveland if they think the team will dump them without even giving it a chance to work. And, Calderon is pretty well regarded around the league from what I've heard (ie liked by other players).

All of that being said, odds are both Osman and Zizic are going to be on this roster opening night and if the Cavs remain unsuccessful in trying to trade Shump, they may have no choice but to cut Calderon. Usually, there are a couple spots at the end of the bench for player/coach type guys just to maintain a positive presence in the lockerroom and to do some spot/clean-up duty. Think James Jones as a good example.

The depth on this team may not allow for that to happen, though.
