This was a game the Bucs should've won.. I don't really care about the kicker, this game was absolutely on Winston's shoulders, he played like trash in the first half missing a lot of wide opens, but what irritates me the most was that missing open throw to DJax, that could have turned the game around..

I'm having a hard time realizing Winston is ever going to be elite or above average, for him to be his third year and still not having the grasp on hitting wide open WR's or staying away from forcing the ****ing throws to double or triple coverages, it's really concerning..

Anyways, here we go to Arizona, I'm actually going to this game for 2nd straight year (Last year they blew us off 40-7), I really hope it goes the other way.

Nice weekend to all, good luck!

The issue with drafting kickers early is not related to their importance. Denying the importance of a good kicker is just silly. The real reason kickers aren't drafted early is because it remains one of the toughest positions to evaluate at the college level. If you need evidence of this, just look at the list of the most accurate kickers in NCAA history.

Brett Baer (90%) - went undrafted and never played an NFL down
Alex Henery (89%) - lasted four years with a career 82% FG percentage
Roberto Aguayo (88%) - prolly out of the league in <2 years, 72% career FG percentage
Chris Manfridini (87%) - didn't make a team
Jeff Budzien (87%) - didn't attempt an NFL kick
Nate Freese (86%) - one season, career 43% FG percentage

and you can just keep going. There is only one player in the top 20 in NCAA FG % who went on to have a successful NFL career - Kai Forbath

I'm not saying they aren't important. They are very much so.

But you don't waste a second round pick on one.

Interesting stats, though. Did not know that.
