Default Dennis Smith Jr against Bulls

You can see he knows how to play basketball, just the way he draws the jumpshooting foul with the player on his back. Its a a bad shoot, but he feels the defender and knows he will draw the foul

He's a steal. Great aggressive instincts to score. Rose-esque. Not quite as strong physically as a Westbrook/Wall type, but quick and explosive.

Looked pretty good his first game actually, just stupid taking him when we have Gordon already, who think is a bust but management will probably build around. I wanted DSJ so we could get rid of Payton

Idk, I was picking up a real soccer vibe from the video you referenced.

I would have taken him number one a million times out of a million. He may bust but if he plays up to his potential he will be far and away the most electrifying and best player of the draft.

Back in May when the lottery was set many Mav fans were unhappy because they all felt that DSJ would not be there when they picked. The more and more I read about him (history with coach, injuries, etc) had me worried if the Mavs picked him. I was hoping for another player at the time, Isaac, Frankie Smokes, etc.

After watching him in Summer League I am glad I was wrong about some of his issues. He needs to get in "NBA game shape"..... Carlisle has said he was winded and asked to come out the last two games (games in which he played 12 minutes and 19 minutes respectively.) And he needs to learn what shots to take/get off the pick and roll.
