Default Interesting kick on the 1984 vs. 2003 draft class debate

The draft of 2003 is often touted as the greatest of all time, with Lebron James, Dywane Wade, Chris Bosh, and Carmelo Anthony, yet is often met with protest claiming the 1984 draft class takes the cake because of Hakeem Olajuawn and Michael Jordan.

The argument I never see, thus 1984 not making their entire point, is that also drafted in 1984 were future hall-of-famers Charles Barkley and John Stockton.

Stockton vs. Wade
Jordon vs. Lebron
Sir Charles vs. Melo
Olajuawn vs. Bosh

This evens the argument out a bit, i say it comes down to the next tier of players i'm not as familiar with.

Arguing over this is pretty pointless. Wait till 2013, then we might have a better idea..

2003 is not often touted as the best class ever. People always bring up ALL the legends from 1984. People have brought this up in the other thread on the same exact topic.

I don't see Bosh becoming a HOF-level player, more like a Jermaine O'neal when he reaches his prime.

Well you can't tell right now. However, The 03 class has 3 maybe 4 superstars already, and more depth than the 84 class.

He will be much better than Oneal. He's already put up numbers arguably better than O'neals best anyway.

the above players were all taken in 1984 (I've probably forgotten some too)

NO WAY 2003 can hang with that.
