He'll suit up anyway. Not convinced he will be playing but he probably should instead of Udoh anyway

41 wins would be a great season with this team. The thing about these projections is that the roster should look a lot different by the all-star game

Tony Jones: Jazz guard Rodney Hood told The Tribune he will play tonight, but that he’s still not quite at 100 percent. He still has a stomach bug – via Twitter tribjazz

The flu is when his season went south last year when he lost weight. That makes this a bit worrisome. There were reports he was bigger this year but I haven't noticed

The fact that Ingles was so careful with the ball, while still finding his teammates for easy buckets, is what the Jazz need from Ingles. The Jazz offense isn’t going to blow anyone away, so limiting turnovers and taking advantage of each offensive possession is crucial.

He does turn it over though

The Timberwolves boast their own skilled and offensively explosive big man in Karl-Anthony Towns, but Minnesota’s strength lies in its wing play — all-NBA shooting guard Jimmy Butler and athletic Andrew Wiggins.

Towns is pretty special

Quote:
That puts the onus on Joe Ingles and Rodney Hood to play well.

Not really. If they aren't getting it done you bring in someone that can

Gone to the mountains now, Rubio is the Jazz’s next point guard in a lineage that includes playmaking Hall of Famer John Stockton, scorer Deron Williams and from another time and place before them, a guy named Pistol Pete Maravich.

Pistol was more of a 2 I believe. Could we not put Ricky up there with HOFers and all-stars please?

Wiggins, Butler, and Anthony-Towns will not get a break when Rudy Gobert, Joe Ingles, and Rodney Hood go to the bench because in their place Ekpe Udoh, Thabo Sefolosha, and Donovan Mitchell come onto the court.

Burks? Johnson?

Ricky Rubio put on a show with with his Jason Kidd-esque line

and Kidd esque bricks too

Quote:
This has been a common thread with Rodney Hood as he battles anxiety throughout his career. As someone with anxiety, I’m not going to say that he just has to “man up” and get on the court. Unless you’ve had it, it’s rough. Also, when you gotta poop, you gotta poop. He played through and had an okay opening. Against Minnesota he’s going to have to have a big game. While Utah’s defense can shut down Minnesota, Utah will need all the points it can get.

Hood didn't have a big game against Denver. They need some scoring from him but he's hardly as important as people want to make him out to be

Quote:
Rodney Hood will have the looks, the spacing, and the touches to score big.

Will he though? He won't have the ball in his hands is the biggest problem unless they put him on the bench

Neto would fit and be appreciated there I'd think. Pick up Bolomboy while you still can!

He's a 6-foot-6 shooting guard, so he does have NBA size, and is 23 years old. There might be something there.

have you not learned yet that all that matters is his length?

can spend up to 45 days with the Bucks. That time will not start until the G League's season begins.

That's interesting. Who was in street clothes last game for the Jazz. I assume Wolters suited up but I think Griffin could help them as an energy guy

The stretch vindicates Utah’s off-season philosophy.

When a team that is good at both ends doesn't blow them out get back to me

$35.3 million

That’s the amount by which the Jazz would be over the salary cap next July 1 if they did nothing but kept the free agents to their existing players.

Goodbye Favors, Hood and Johnson for sure!

Quote:
the point here is that it would be pretty difficult to get under the cap.

Not really. Everyone should be tradable right now with just there or also next on their contracts except for Rudy and Ingles who's contract is getting lower each year

Quote:
having Hood slotted at his hold amount of $7.16 million at the start of free agency probably won’t actually create an opportunity for the Jazz to do anything they couldn’t have done with him signed at $15 to 18 million.

So why wasn’t the extension given then? Probably for the obvious reasons. Hood likely wanted to get paid like Gary Harris, who received $74 million over four seasons, with another $10 of incentive-based compensation. And the Jazz probably want to be sure Hood is that consistently good before making that kind of investment.

Can't see Hood being worth the kind of money they're talking consistent or not. He's a one trick pony. 6th man

That's the Jazz I expected to see. Spacing killed them. Rudy couldn't get free.

Hood out for the year?
