Default 2017 NFL Rookie of the Year

Kareem Hunt or Deshaun Watson, who you got?

This is tough one right now IMO. I basically feel like Watson is more deserving but that voters will go Hunt due to Chiefs record.

Kareem Hunt..Ballin since week 1, Team is 5-1..Has the numbers which adds to a major factor for 5-1..Plus his late TD helped spark the win over the best NFC team, my Eagles.

i would def vote watson #1, and I would consider putting fournette over hunt at the #2 spot.

fournette doesnt have the efficiency of hunt, but other than that his numbers are pretty comparable. also while hunt is surrounded by great offensive players and has a great offensive coach drawing his plays, fournette is out there running against heavily stacked boxes and carrying a very flawed offense single-handedly.

Watson will hit a wall and Hunt will take it just because of record

If Watson keeps it up tho itís should be unanimously his

Fournette for sure.

Has changed the offensive fortune for Jacksonville. Made them respectable because you never know which Bortles is going to show up. Alot of what Nanners said about Hunt also applies to Watson. Any credible QB could probably put up similar stats if they were throwing to Hopkins and Fuller.

But by seasons end when Trubisky leads us to the NFCN crown, he'll win it

i disagree. while the texans skill players are solid, they arent good enough to carry your average "credible" rookie QB to 6th overall in passer rating. there are 32 starting QBs in the league, how many of them could actually hit 6th in passer rating if they were throwing to Hopkins and Fuller? obviously the top 3 guys (brady, brees, rodgers) could do it, but they are among the greatest of all time... what about a truly average (aka "credible"?) QB like Tyrod Taylor or Andy Dalton?

also QB is a much more mentally demanding position than RB, which is another big part of why its so impressive to see a rookie QB doing what Watson has done.

if watson is able to maintain anything close to his current statistical pace throughout the season, he will end up with one of the best seasons for any rookie QB in NFL history.

First, I don't believe there are 32 starting caliber QBs in the league. Second, his skill players aren't the reason he's that high in QB rating, he is a special QB. Believe me, I know, I vouched for the Bears to draft him all off-season. But I do believe alot of these above average QBs could put up similar stats as Watson has, maybe not the rating but the TDs (especially against defenses like NE and CLE and to an extent, TEN). QB rating is such a flawed formula as well, no one knows how it truly works, guys put up same stats all the time and end up with different QBs.

But I'm not gonna throw a fit to alot of people saying Watson is OROY. The guy is putting up monster numbers and has listed that team. I hope he ends up great, kid deserves it. But I would put Fournette as my OROY. Out of all the top guys performing, he's doing the most with the least.

I think it's downright laughable ppl are using Watson's skill players against him to diminish his success.

His oline is bad.

His RBs average less than 4 ypc and have one TD.

Nik is a good player. Fuller is a one trick pony.

They don't have a 3rd WR.

Nobody even knows who their TEs are now.

His whole cast on offense is well below average.

I just want to see a list of above average QBs who have had 45 TD seasons before.

Because that's what's he's on pace for.

Big Ben has played with much better weapons and oline the past bunch of years. I don't see him doing it. Rivers hasn't come close to it. Carr surrounded by top 3 oline and crab/Cooper never come close . Kirk cousins no. Eli when he was good no.

He'll even Brees has only done 40+ TDs twice in his career.

Matt Ryan hasn't come close to sniffing 45 TD and last year he played with an elite collection of offensive talent.

Stop it ballinhun. What Watson has done is not normal. Its not something replicable by any above average qb.

He may fall off but for now, he's playing insane ball.
