Personally I wouldn't trade Gasol (and a mediorce level player) for anything less than a 1st round pick, a decent player and then a mediocre player.

So say we recieve something along the lines of:

A 1st round pick. (*Only if there is a big man in the draft*)
A player of, say Luol Deng's caliber.**
And a player of about Shane Battier's calliber.**

* - I say this because if we are trading Gasol then I would want to get another big man who can take over.
** - Not nessacerily those players, or that position(sf), but players who are on the same wave length as them.

that seems like a good trade, then you guys have 3 first round picks plus a skilled 19 year old in bynum. think of it in 3 years.

Right so we give up a guy who just averaged 21ppg 10rpg 4apg and 2bpg.For Bynum who has shown nothing in two years.Ratlif who has not been good in three years.Picks that are always a gamble.Wow man this sounds great. How about We trade pau miller the number four pick this year and damon stoudamire. For Kobe and Jordan Farmar?

I don't understand why you wanted to get probably the best player the franchise ever had traded, specially for a medium level player like Bynum.

But if it's that what you want, better trade them to Chicago and get Ben Gordon or Luol Deng.

I know this is wishful thinking but the Sonics said they would
entertain offers for the 2nd pick (Durant). What about Pau plus
the #4 for Sonic's Durant.

not so hasty, jailer...after what i read today about Durant not being
able to bench press 185 and slower than Oden in the 40 he may not
require all that...so I would lower my offer to Mike Miller plus the #4...
Durant would fill the seats more so than al Horford...the Grizz could
then trade Pau for Gordon and the Bulls #9...but what i expect to
happen is that West will pick Horford and that will be all they do

Guys, do the above trade AND

trade Ratliff & #5 for Jarret Jack & Zach Randolph
draft Brandon Wright.

Then you have, get this:
Jarret Jack
Mike Miller
Rudy Gay
Zach (Wright off the bench)
Bynum

and still have #19 draft pick to play with.

That's a nice lineup for the next 10 years.

Don't think the Grizz would touch Randolph after the problems they had with
Bonzi.

I think Memphis should try to contact the Lakers for:

- Andrew Bynum
- Kwame Brown*
- #19 Pick
- Future first round pick

*A good expiring contract that evens out the trading salaries.

This would give the Grizzlies some cap room next season, a good future center in Bynum, and an additional pick in the first round. And a LineUp of:

Damon Stoudamire/Chucky Atkins
Rudy Gay/Tarence Kinsey
Mike Miller/Dahntay Jones
Hakim Warrick/Lawrence Roberts/Kwame Brown
Andrew Bynum/Stromile Swift

If they drafted Corey Brewer and a PG. They would have a talented, young team.

Ugggh! That wouldn't be much of an improvement. Atkins, Dahtay Jones & Swift are gonna get traded anyway. Kwame is Stromile all over. Both draft busts so they don't need another Stro no show. The Grizz could get a lot better for Gasol. Bynum hasn't shown he can be a star. They may try to
get B. Gordon and #9 for Gasol.

Kwame is only there for his contract. If the Grizzlies do give in and trade Gasol, they will want cap friendly contracts to help rebuild. This is only Bynum's second year, most projected him to be a good center in 3-4 and an all-star in 5-6.

Honestly, the team would look bad for the next 2-3 years, but think about building a team around Rudy Gay and Andrew Bynum. They would also have 2 draft picks in what is being discussed as the deepest draft in recent history. Lets say the Grizzlies draft Brandan Wright at #4, at age 19 he has a lot of potential. Then with the Lakers #19 pick they take Acie Law, PG, Texas A&M. Law would be a good pickup because he is mature, intelligent and a strong defender.

Think about this line up in 2-3 years:

Acie Law
Rudy Gay
Mike Miller
Hakim Warrick
Andrew Bynum

That line up would seriously excite me if I were Grizzlies fan. Sure they wouldn't be great in '08 or probably '09. They would be young and very talented.
