If the Raptors got Hassell and then Minnesota in sequence traded KG, I would drop my TWolves fan identity. The Raptors would be far and away my favorite team.

Toronto should just let him walk, rather than take Hassell's contract.

I'd much rather grab a C with MLE and let Jaric get some PT while McCants is out.
We can grab help up front with the lower-level exception, which is just under $2 million. We can get Lorenzen Wright or Othella Harrington with that.

Also, getting James makes our backcourt EXACTLY as crowded as it should be.

James and Foye get time at the point. Hassell and Davis get time at the two until McCants gets back. Davis and Reed get time at the three. Jaric sits down and cries.

I don't think we could get Wright with the LLE, but I could be wrong.

Also, I don't want Jaric on the bench for 48 minutes man. He's good for atleast 15 minutes per game. He can be useful if used properly.

I don't want him on the bench all the time either, but our coach hates him for no reason and he has no confidence playing under Casey.

Why the HELL would anybody give Trenton Hassell $17,400,000 when they could just sign Adrian Griffin for some Cheetos and a 40.

Because Hassell is significantly better in every way, is younger, and is an actual SHUTDOWN defender.

least he WAS... he really hasn't gotten enough PT lately to do his thing.

He's gotten the playing time. He just doesn't get the recognition anymore because the team isn't winning. Hassell's contributions aren't the kind that make or break a team. Hassell gives you the same great effort all the time. It just goes unnoticed when the team isn't doing well because of a terrible front office and below-average coach.

Is he as good a defender as I remember? Always in the guy's face, always stays in front, frustrates stars?

Yeah, he's that guy, but he's less effective now because the NBA won't let you touch anyone on the outside. I suppose, in that respect, that trading Hassell for James would be ok.

I remember he held T-Mac to 3 or 4 points.

The Raps used up 6 years of Cheetos extensions on Oliver Miller. We're back in the market for junk fed veterans in 2010. They still have some BBQ Lays in Philly I hear.

I'm not sure that Hassels contract is what the Raps want, and there's no point in doing a sign and trade unless the player they get is right for the roster. So while I do like Hassel's game, I don't see the Rap's picking him up.

32.6 minutes a game is not enough time to get barely any rebounds or assists, score little, shoot poorly, and get paid $4.35million?

Hassell did the exact same stuff he's doing in Minnesota that he did in Chicago. Which is play some defense and do a whole lot of NOTHING else.
