The Lady Huskies are on a road trip overseas. First game, the ladies beat the Netherlands national team; 73-53, with Stef Dolson netting 19 points. Enjoy, have fun, and good luck.
Wow. I was shocked to hear about coach Pat Summit's medical situation (early onset dementia, the Alzheimer’s type). My heart and prayers go out to the Summit family. Despite whatever issues Vol fans have with us Husky fans, and vice versa. It is time that we put that aside and keep Coach Summit in our prayers and thoughts.
Andre Drummond is rethinking his decision about going to Wilbraham and Monson Academy in Massachusetts. Classes start Tuesday at UConn. In order for him to join the team, coach Calhoun would have to drop a player to make room for Dre. This is going to be interesting.
I don't know if I can deal with us not being in the Big East. It is going to be tough not seeing Pitt or Syracuse anymore. But UConn not apart of the Big East? Whoa. I gotta step back on that one for a bit.
Congrats, Maya Moore on being named the Rookie of the Year in the WNBA. We are proud of all of your success. And for leading the Lynx to the WNBA Finals!!!!

C-Dot (Caroline Doty) has been cleared to play. This is great news for such a well liked and tough player. I hope that she doesn't put too much pressure on herself to do too much. One step at a time, C-Dot

Oh boy. It seems that our prized addition has some questions about his eligibility. Before becoming a UConn Husky, Andre Drummond made an appearance in a STACK.com video in which he offered a positive review of an adidas basketball shoe. The NCAA does not permit student-athletes to endorse commercial products, but according to UConn, Drummond's appearance in the video came before his enrollment at the school. Hopefully we can rush the NCAA on this matter so that Dre is cleared before the season starts. We got time.
First Night looks to be a dandy. I am looking forward to seeing the new recruits in action on both sides of the basketball world. We have the new recruits on the women's side of the hoop world, as well as the men's side. Can't wait.
