Allen Iverson No.5? Don't you think he's overrated?

edit - oh and i'm assuming hondo is a 3, and that's why he's not on the list.
Yes Hondo = SF

Anyways, why Thompson over Dumars and Reggie? He only played 8 years in the NBA. And though was a good scorer, couldn't do much else. Also didn't have much team success. Kind of tough to make an argument for him

Sam Jones is good too, strongly considered, but then again, he was part of Russell's teams and didn't have the talent the others did...

Why are people saying Miller over Joe?

Miller was slightly a better scorer

Dumars was a better, passer, defender, and had WAY more winning accomplisments...

Bing was more of a PG definately. And McGrady? Over who?

If Joe D is there for accompishments then why not Sam Jones, better scorer and (MORE) accomplishments then Joe.

I'm pretty sure Bing was a 2guard.

i don't think reggie or joe are real franchise guards. love joe d, but you wouldn't even consider building a team around him. reggie either really. he's a great scorer / clutch player, but he's a system guy, not a get out the way and let me carry this team guy. guys like thompson / tmac / pierce can (to some extent - the two guard is a tough spot to be a franchise guy from anyway so there aren't many guys on the list). of course that's not necessarily the best way to guage it because most successful teams had guys more like toney or scott who just played the roll and didn't try to dominate. just another perspective.

Your forgetting somethings...

Dumars is better than Sam Jones individually. Sure Sam Jones could score better, but Dumars was also a great scorer, and a way better defender. Not only that, Dumars was also a great passer for SG and played PG at times.

Lastly, Dumars has a Finals MVP, which is key in accomplisments. But its mostly Dumars being better than SJ individually

True. I think McGrady and maybe Pierce too will definately be on here when they retire. But right now their winning accomplisments are way too low. McGrady hasn't even gotten out of 1st round, and Pierce is struggling too. Really, the longetivity of both Dumars and Miller put them on top. Also, Dumar's winning accomplisments and Miller is a "PURE" SG makes them better

I don't think JD was better individualy. Joe was a beter passer because he was a combo gurd while Sam was a guard/foward. The ball wasn't reall in his hands alot as the PG (Cousy/KC) and the SF (Hondo) uaualy had the ball.

I think that would help your list substantially.

But you still can't say that if SJ did have the ball he'd be good too...

I think its pretty close between Dumars, Sam Jones, and Reggie Miller....

Very close...

I really can see

SJ > Dumars
At the same time, its easy to see
Dumars > Miller

and also very easy to see that Miller belongs in Top 10 SGs because he is the PUREST SG of All-Time, just like Stockton is the purest PG of All-Time

Why are people saying that Iverson is too high? Hell, I would even argue him above Clyde. Dude is 6 feet even (arguably) yet he has a 4 rpg average. Among the greats in the league at stealing the ball. He averages over 6 assists a game for his career and over 7 for the past three years. He does only have one finals apperance, but he even managed to steal a damn game from the invcincible Lakers squad of taht year. Can someone tell me what help he's had in his career? Has he had Shaq? Wilt? Hakeem? Hell, has he even had a Scottie Pippen? Oh, that's right he had Dikembe and 6th man of the year Aaron McKie

Did anyone forget about his MVP as well?

I like the list, but ability wise I would put Kobe at 2nd. It's even implied that his only weakness could be lack of team success after the dynasty years. And I would agree about the selfishness part but the guy still averages close to 6 assists per game for a SG. Also factoring the kind of system he's played in.
Maybe I don't understand the list, but one on one Kobe would beat every player on the list but MJ. It would be close though.
