He was label with an NBA jumper from a lot of scouts and wasn't playing like a scared bitch in college.

NBAdraft.net not the most reputable but sure one says he had one but to the Keen eye no one saw him as a scorer. They wanted Ball as a facilitator/leader/cultural mover.

Alot of his 3s in college were uncontested. He just isn't hitting them at the professional level but you can learn to be a better shooter. With another year under his belt and being in the NBA system (like 2nd year pro Ben Simmons) he'll see an increase in that department during this season and next. Granted he's so low right now that he can only go up but it can be learned.

SI

Strengths: It’s impossible to deny the effect Ball’s simple presence had on the Bruins’ offense last season: he’s extremely unselfish with outstanding vision, and it rubbed off on his teammates. He has the potential to essentially be an enabler for a fast-paced, modern NBA offense, and that’s extremely enticing. Even if he doesn’t evolve into a go-to scorer, Ball’s good enough in transition and as a set shooter that he’ll remain a threat. He likes to gamble for steals in the passing lanes, and has the size to defend both guard positions.

I can't find a single scout that knocked his shooting.

The number 2 pick in the league should be able to shoot coming out of college or at least have a post-up game/drive to the rack to do some scoring. Just try to get the opposition to pick up some fouls by driving...anything other than pass the ball and vanish.

He makes one pass while bringing it up the floor and his teammates hardly ever look to get the ball back to him. He's nothing more than a bailout shooter at this point. If no one else is open, Lonzo will be cause he's not being guarded.... just standing outside by the 3 line.

It's really no surprise that his assist to TO ratio is top 10. He barley gets the ball back after his initial pass. His teammates can't count on him after the initial pass.
You have the nerve to present your "facts" where is it, what stat are you talking about to PROVE YOUR POINT. give me a freaking link!
According to you, Lonzo makes ONE PASS and barely gets the ball back, how on EARTH is it possible that he still gets to take TWELVE SHOTS per game(Westbrook shot 13 his rookie year), have a USAGE RATE OF 19.2!!!!
Jason Kidd at age 21, had a usage of 19.0, 10.8 attempts/game.
https://www.basketball-reference.com.../kiddja01.html
Lonzo makes ONE pass, he gets 6-7 assists/game, so you mean to tell me ALL of them came via outlet outlet pass?

Malcolm Brogdon who was pretty good last season had a USG rate of 18.5 https://www.basketball-reference.com...brogdma01.html
And you know what usage rate means right?
Usg%
Usage Percentage (available since the 1977-78 season in the NBA); the formula is 100 * ((FGA + 0.44 * FTA + TOV) * (Tm MP / 5)) / (MP * (Tm FGA + 0.44 * Tm FTA + Tm TOV)). Usage percentage is an estimate of the percentage of team plays used by a player while he was on the floor.
At age 25, Steve Nash has a USG rate of 14.5 and before you suspect he barely played, he averaged 27 minutes per game. https://www.basketball-reference.com.../nashst01.html
Look, I am not saying he is playing great, but to imply that he is garbage or proclaim that he is already a bust this early is wrong IMO.
You can make excuses on why his assists to turnover rate is so high blah blah blah, but he is contributing period.
Westbrook shot 27% from the 3pt area AND UNDER 40%FG, his rookie year, 22 % from the 3pt line his 2nd year.

You got to wonder how Lavar let him keep that shooting form without correcting it.

Maybe because Lavar has never played basketball at a decent level and knows very little about it...

Hmmmm.......same fans here that sh*t on Ball are gonna be eating crow soon enough. Ball is playing well in all areas besides shooting/scoring......like most knew already from his college/HS play yet people expected/wanted differently? He's an old school PG. What's wrong with that? Not every team wants/needs their PG to be capable of scoring 30 and forcing shots.

What are you talking about everyone was talking about stat padding rebounds for Westbrook last year.

I call bullshit. You don't remember Westbrook camping in the paint all last season to steal extra rebounds from his bigs?

He looks really bad so far, but who knows...a lot changes in the first few years of a career for some players.
