I agree.

By all means please take Randle + Deng.

With Cavaliers playing awful, and east being wide open, would'nt it be a good idea for some Eastern team look to do a trade with OKC to get George. Say Bulls, Hornets and Nets. They may

lol no. those teams have a 0% chance at the finals with paul george.

bucks could make a plan at him, though. but it would cost parker + more.

Bulls make no sense, they are obviously aiming for a top pick to pair with Ayton/LaVine. They didn't deal away Butler to get George.

Nets do make sense, but they don't have anything that Oklahoma City would really want.

Hornets would be a good fit, but again, don't have the pieces.

I don't expect them to get past 1st round tbh.. PG will walk if they are a first round exit. I would be willing to bet the Lakers future on that.

He wouldn't walk because the Lakers would be signing another star player in the FA to go with him.

My point was that Randle & KCP are most likely going to be gone anyways, according to reports around the league. So if they are walking anyway, why not load them off mid-season to get PG if he's available? You get him in early and they start working towards building an actual contender now rather than next season.

Same issue as the Pacers. What are these dudes smoking?

1) I meant PG would walk from OKC, not Lakers.

2) But there's a chance we can re-sign either KCP or Randle if they continue to perform well. Our guaranteed salaries are only 51 mil this summer. Lopez will be off the books along with Brewer and Bogut. We would have enough for 1 max contract and couple other decent contracts rather than blow it all on 2 max deals. We are not getting 2 max players regardless - don't even bother. LeBron ain't coming and neither is Westbrook or whoever. I don't want LeBron anyways and the baggage that comes with him.

I wouldn't give up KCP because he could be very valuable as 4th option down the road - Lakers will have an opportunity to keep him long term if he plays well. Ingram is shaping up to be a solid 2nd option. PG would be an excellent 1st option. Why give up that potential for someone we know wanted to come to LA? Besides, trade deadline is before all star break this year I believe so OKC won't trade him before all star break.. Too early to consider it dead project before all star break.
