You can't say Dalton is bad QB and turn around and say he's a Franchise QB.

Use you brain. Use logic. Dalton gets paid a lot, that just means he's an overpaid mediocre QB who you should be looking to upgrade if an opportunity presents itself.

I never said he was a bad QB so don’t lump me with PT

Dalton is Matt Ryan without the coaching

If you’re the QB of the franchise, you’re a franchise QB. If you asked Bengals front office if Dalton is their franchise QB, they would say yes.

Franchise QB doesn’t say anything about skill...it just means that’s the guy the franchise is going with. The Bengals are going with Dalton, he’s their guy.

Dalton’s been the starting QB for the Bengals for 7 years now...he’s their franchise QB...that’s not even debatable, it’s a absolute fact

Franchise QB is a guy that's really good. Someone you can depend on to play well.

If you think a franchise QB is someone who starts a lot then it's simply a difference opinion of what the term means.

Flacco isn't a franchise QB.

Hearing someone call him a franchise QB Seema dumb but If that's your definition of it power to ya dipshit

Hate to type this, but pt is absolutely right on this one

The term “franchise qb” does nit mean good

It’s means a franchise is paying and COMMITTING a lot of money and the stOarting position

Period.

Point blank.

End of discussion

No debate

Whether or not Andy dalton should CONTINUE to be stOarting ,”franchise” qb is a TOTALLY different debate

Y’all know how much I usually disagree with the hillbilly, but by definition Andy dalton is and HAS BEEN THE FRANCHISE’S STOARTING QB FOR 7 years !

Comeon. Terms are literal, opinions aren’t.

And like anything, there is going to be better franchise QBs than others.

If a qb starts and makes 100 million by definition, he is a franchise qb

Going forward, should he be, IS DIFFERENT

Good to know moving forward. When I hear there are so and so franchise QBs in the draft, all they're really saying is he will play for the team for 5+ years.

I was thinking the term actually meant you were a franchise player i.e very good to excellent

Looking for a franchise QB, a 83.8 career passer rating guy instead of a 90+

What did I “change on the fly”?

My definition of franchise QB has never changed...it’s always been the QB choosen to lead a franchise
