Default Right now Beasley better offensive player than Melo.

Right now Beasley is a better offensive player than Melo, he showed this season when getting minutes and just looked much better then Melo head to head last game putting up 30P 11/18.

Beasley just can't get enough minutes. I can never understand it when chuckers like Melo can get away with putting up 20 plus shots with poor efficiency , barely plays any defence and still stays in the starting line up.

Beasley needs more opportunity and Melo needs to be benched.

The only reason Beasley is playing well is because he has a supporting cast and opponents still sleep on him. He has a weak handle and does not pass well. Definitely instant offense, though -

I do agree that he's playing better than Melo. Melo looks a step slow and that shaking and baking last night only caused turnovers. Thank God he's out of NYC.

It's not like it's saying much to be a better offensive player than Carmelo these days. His impact on the offensive end is atrocious this season.

No. Beasley is much more efficient at closing at RIM from both sides. He's been shooting above 50% for the last three seasons, but only given back up minutes.
Melo has been around 42% for a long time now and this year is barely above 40%. Beasley is actually making a effort on the defensive effort. Melo doesn't play any D. I don't understand all of this NY sentiments, he under performed there.

I also wonder how Carmelo Anthony has been able to not only get away with all the negativies that he displays on the floor(like chucking up inefficient shots, not sharing the ball, not playing defense, leading the team to failure and being a coach killer) but also keep getting heavy minutes and max contracts. I think Beasley is guaranteed to do better than Carmelo if he gets 35 minutes a game.

Its that idiot on ESPN Steven A Smith he is always exaggerating Melo worth and contributions, this has a impact of what averages fans think and want. It impacts coaching and rotations, as coaches don't want to stick their neck out.

Beasley on the other hand has had a bad reputation on ESPN.

Well by the recent sample Beasley is clearly not only a better offensive player, but better all round player compared to Melo.

Since Kansas State, Beasley always had some of the best hands to get the ball into the hoop. Him and Zach Randolph stood out as the most impressive and I thought Beasley was going to end up being an athletic version of ZBo. But he always took these terrible shots instead of utilizing his touch around the rim. Tonight I saw him finally putting that together. If he can string that together consistently he could be a very nice offensive player for teams.

He's been playing at this level for the last 3 years, but seems to be reading the game better now and has got better at attacking the rim. He hasn't got more than 18 min per game over the last 3 seasons and he has been above 50% from the field. Recent games with more minutes has shown what level he can play at. He's legit 6'9 with very large and good hands at the rim.
