Default Booker now 7th in league in scoring

averaging 25.2 ppg /4.5 reb/4.3 ast on 45/39/87

2nd amongst guards

Suns are 3-7 without him and 3-1 since he returned. He's proving all the doubters wrong who labelled him as one dimensional (in his second nba season mind you ) by upping his efficiency and all-around game. The dude is still ass on defense but he's at least trying some it's more about leading his team and getting everyone involved as they choose to run the offense through him more often now and it's working.

He's really stepped up after the Bledsoe trade.

He's good. Can we have him for Cleveland?

were you so hurt from reading the stat-line that you didn't continue with the rest of the post?

After putting up these numbers in his 3rd season you're gonna ask about his defense

he's my favorite player but even I've kept it real on the suns reddit forum and everyone would downvote me for criticing his defense. he has improved this season though, he's actually had some impressive (by his standards) chase down blocks and steals.

i still think the biggest improvement would come from the entire team focusing on defense. still, not easy to average 25ppg on your 3rd season after most teams use double-team coverage on him.

oops, I misinterpreted your question as an attempt to dismiss his progress. My apologies.

There lies the problem. It's not fair to have him carry the load in scoring and handle the pg duties while at the same time giving full effort on the defensive end. He'd be gassed before the 2nd half of the game. Harden for example, is surrounded with great shooters and a roll man. Booker's supporting cast is mediocre at best.

TJ Warren, as much as i love him, is also part of the problem. He's the only other bonafide scorer on the team, does so many things well on offense but he can't pass and even though he tries on defense it's not good. In december he replaced Booker as the first option on offense and averaged 20 ppg and 1.5 assists and they've all been mid-range shots and floaters since he can't hit the 3 ball.
