Re: Mark Jackson: "Cavs not better than LA and would struggle for a West playoff spot"
In a 7 game series if they are both healthy I think the Lakers would win... Bron hasnt had to go against a team in the playoffs where they have a start who could hit back....
It would be close though...Lebron has better shooters around him but Kobe is a better and more versatile player....
If the Cavs played the Suns in the first round they would be home too.
Re: Mark Jackson: "Cavs not better than LA and would struggle for a West playoff spot"
I think it is true. Not saying Cavs are a bad squad, but if they were in the West with their record (50-32) they would be the 6th seed behind Dallas (67-15), Phoenix (61-21), San Antonio (58-24), Houston (52-30) & Utah (51-31).
Which means if they were a Western team, they would be facing their current Finals opponent in the first round.
Re: Mark Jackson: "Cavs not better than LA and would struggle for a West playoff spot"
This is a really stupid thing to say. Completely hypothetical situation.
Why not talk about things that can happen in real life, eh? Yeah, the Cavs prob. wouldn't make it out of the first or second round, but who cares? The point is, they win their conference with the slate they were handed.
Re: Mark Jackson: "Cavs not better than LA and would struggle for a West playoff spot"
I would strongly disagree with Mark Jackson.
Cavs would match up well against the Lakers. Big Z would have a field day. So would Hughes. Really, so would Lebron cause the Lakers don't have anyone to check him...too strong for Kobe, too everything for Luke...maybe Evans?
Re: Mark Jackson: "Cavs not better than LA and would struggle for a West playoff spot"
Jackson's the biggest Laker/Kobe homer around. Gotta love how, of all teams and players, he compares the Cavs to the Lakers, who have been fishing for 5 weeks now.

He is right . Just like if magic and larry were in their prime jordan wouldnt have won all those rings. Reality is lebron is in the finals, lakers are in turmoil.

michael did play against larry and magic in their primes. that's why he didn't win his first playoff series until 1988. ran into into larry's championship celts in the first round in 86 and 87.

Yeah but that would have to do with the fact that Magic and Larry had STACKED TEAMS with about more talent than what Jordan had. Not because MAgic and Larry were better basketball players or anything.

Jordan played with talent though. The first 3 championships he won with Pippen, Horace Grant, Paxson, Cartwright, second 3 he won with Pippen, Rodman, Kukoc, Ron Harper, Steve Kerr. Maybe Bird and Magic had more talent around them but it's not like Jordan played with crappy players.
