Default Who is the greatest cornerback of all-time?

I was raised to always believe Primetime. But now with how the league is and how much bigger and faster WR are I'm leaning more towards Rod Woodson. Woodson seems more complete as a player in the CB position

Opinions? Anyone different?

The increasing difficulty of the duties of a cornerback makes you value someone from the 90s more?

As far as people I actually watched and who I value as a true shut down corner, it is hands down Revis.

Neon Deion.

This is the guy I grew up just making play after play all over the field, taking on #1s with no fear. Granted wasn't the best tackler but to be a top guy with that big a flaw and still be considered the best year after year? Come on....

I shouldn't need to state my opinion...

here are the only metrics I have ever found on Deion, for some reason only starting in 95:

Deion:
1995 -- 16-for-47 - 158 yards - 34.0% CT - 0 TD - 2 INT - 26.7 PRA
1996 -- 22-for-46 - 225 yards - 47.8% CT - 0 TD - 2 INT - 44.2 PRA
1997 -- 12-for-39 - 159 yards - 30.7% CT - 0 TD - 2 INT - 23.3 PRA
1998 -- 20-for-42 - 198 yards - 47.6% CT - 0 TD - 5 INT - 21.8 PRA
1999 -- 29-for-53 - 425 yards - 54.7% CT - 2 TD - 3 INT - 70.1 PRA
2000 -- 31-for-63 - 463 yards - 49.2% CT - 1 TD - 4 INT - 52.5 PRA

2004 -- 10-for-21, 92 yards, 0 TD (9 games)
2005 -- 26-for-41, 333 yards, 3 TD (16 games)

Champ:
1999 -- 54-for-113, 830 yards, 4 TD (16 games)
2000 -- 42-for-81, 488 yards, 0 TD (16 games)
2001 -- 40-for-91, 613 yards, 5 TD (16 games)
2002 -- 52-for-98, 567 yards, 2 TD (16 games)
2003 -- 50-for-88, 684 yards, 3 TD (16 games)
2004 -- 49-for-83, 768 yards, 6 TD (16 games)
2005 -- 49-for-97, 680 yards, 5 TD (14 games)
2006 -- 50-for-95, 610 yards, 2 TD (16 games)

^^^ those metrics were leaked from a guy who worked at STATS LLC....this is before PFF even existed. STATS LLC is/was a company that records interesting stats and then sells those stats to the NFL so that the NFL can display them or talk about them during the games. They were stats that were not allowed to the public at that time. How many times a CB was targeted was like secret insider info back then.

But as the story goes, one of the workers got into a debate with someone claiming Champ is the GOAT and then leaked these numbers of both Deion and Champ.

I'll take Ronnie Lott. Lott is primarily known as a safety, but he started his career with the 49's playing cornerback. Lott was an excellent pass defender, but he was also a great tackler who was willing to take on any opposing rusher in the open field. Deion was the best pass defender in the history of the NFL, but he was never very good at run support. He simply didn't like physical contact.
