Game 7

83 76ers at 86 Celtics

Final Score: at Celtics 119, 76ers 105

Player of the Game: L.Bird 30pts 14reb 8ast 4stl

The Boston Celtics come back home and finish off a tough series against the Sixers. Larry Bird came up big when the Celtics needed him the most with a great night. Moses vs. McHale matchup also ended. Moses finished with 25pts/15reb/2blk tonight, and McHale had 26pts/7reb/3blk. Erving only had 13pts and was limited by foul trouble when guarding Bird. Toney had a nice 25pts night but it wasn't enough. Parrish had 17/8 and the Celtics had a total of 6 guys in double figures, their starting 5 and their 6th man Walton. In the end the TOs haunted the Sixers tonight. Also the Celtics got to the line and went 26/31 from there. The Celtics will now move onto the 80s Tournament Finals.

86 Celtics win series 4-3

Ok guys

Get ready for the Finals

86 Celtics vs. 87 Lakers

As you saw in the 90s Tournament, the Finals are more in depth and I give out more details and everything. Check the 90s Finals if you want to know what I am talking about

Let me go edit my 3rd post of the thread (the Matchups post) and update everything and add the final matchup in

In My Opinion this finals is gonna be much better than the 90's Finals.

Can you imagine the '95 Rockets vs '86 Celtics or '87 Lakers?? The Rockets would have no shot. The '96 Bulls were great but they would have big trouble containing the Celtics Frontcourt and the Lakers Fastbreak.

Anyways the '86 Celtics and '87 Lakers matchups should be....

'87 lakers D
Kareem / M. Thompson on Parish / Walton
Mychal Thompson / A.c. Green on McHale
Michael Cooper / Worthy on Bird
Scott on Ainge
Magic on DJ

'86 Celtics D
Parish/Walton on Kareem/M. Thompson
McHale on Green/M. Thompson
Bird on Worthy
Ainge on Scott
DJ on Magic

I expect this series to go 7 Games.

imo the 96 bulls matched up pretty well against the lakers with scottie to cover magic and rodman to cover worthy. no real answer for kareem who was much more mobile and too much range on his hook for longley. better depth too. the 95 rockets might have been more trouble than you think too. the 86 rockets beat the lakers to make it to the finals (though there were some injuries) because the lakers just had no answer for hakeem on the boards. add clyde who had his share of big games against the lakers, and it becomes a contest. i think la wins either series, but it would at least be entertaining.

Yes, but the 95 Rockets didn't have Ralph Sampson. If the '86 Rockets have any edge over the '95 Rockets it is on the boards. If i remember correctly the Mid 90's Rockets wern't all that great on the boards. Especially in '95 when they traded Otis Thorpe (2nd best rebounder on the team) for old Drexler that still had something left in the tank. The '95 Rockets were actually outrebounded by 3 RPG in '95. The '87 Lakers didn't have a dominant rebounder but they had plenty of players who were solid on the boards. One is Mychal Thompson who wasn't a member of the lakers in '86 when they lost to the rockets. IMO the '94 Rockets were a better team than the '95 Rockets.

And to handle Kevin Mchale who was a teammate of Mychal Thompson in Minnosota.
