hmmn, heres the deal. why would we blow up one of the most successful teams of this decade? Maxiell at the 5 would be a disaster over the course of a season. Hes the reason bron got those wide open dunks in game 5 (well really the refs flag 2ing dice was the reason). good effort guy, but he gambles too much for my liking.

I agree with you we need to draft a big and see how that pans out (but we do have 6'11" and growing Amir Johnson down the line as well). I hope dale davis comes back and gets some mroe time if webber moves on.

Well look at it this way, 90% of Marion's is created by Nash or other teammates. Or put backs and transition points. You can't isolate him or run the offense through him at all. That's how the Spurs exposed Phoenix -- the Suns had too many perimeter players who couldn't create shots.

On the otherhand, Sheed is a legitimate post player, has outside range, and would dramatically improve the interior defense (and bring toughness).

The reason I threw in Barbosa is because Detroit may or may not need a starting point guard. I guarantee you that a shrewd GM like Dumars would try to include him in the deal. It gives him more leverage in deciding on whether to keep Chauncey or not. You go after Barbosa now while he's still unproven, not after he becomes an all star.

And you can always throw in draft picks and role players.

You don't need a great big man in the East, and besides, McDyess is still there.

Doesn't matter how shrewd Dumars is, Kerr wouldn't budge.

I already stated that Marion can't create, but a 20/10 player is a 20/10 player. Sheed from this year isn't close to as good as Marion. Just look at the way he plays on offense. Players with no skill like Marion should be offended.

you do to win it all. anything less than a 7 game finals is a failure of a season IMO

I'd trade Sheed because of his age. Simple as that.

Sean Williams has a better chance of killing himself than becoming a worthwhile second round pick. He would fit in the Detroit system though because of the shot blocking, but do you want another offensively inept big man?

He's not Wallace bad, but at the NBA level he would suck on offense.

Gasol is your average white big man nobody. Don't see him ever having a big impact. Doesn't do one thing special.

1). Sheed improves the defense and woeful shot blocking.
2). Sheed gives you a back to the basket scoring threat in the post. Amare and Kurt are face up scorers.
3). You can isolate the offense through Sheed. If he's on, many teams in the league will have to bouble team or flash a player in the post. And that creates better spacing for perimeter shooters.
4). Sheed is TOUGH
5). The Nash factor. You gotta think that Stevie and the system will get Sheed a lot more easier baskets.

sure I dont disagree. We are clearly way too long in the tooth in the frontcourt. Id rather unload him for randolph (or another more trad. style 4 or 5). Sheed for Caveman?:)

Some of you are delusional or havent seen Marion play.Simply put trading him would be a huge mistake by the Suns.

cant pay all of those guys. Nobody is denying that marion is a great player. Simply put, sheed brings important skills to the 4 that marion cannot (post up skills, interior D, better passing out of the post, selfless play). Having a big who can strech the floor like sheed (as opposed to having a big who only has an outside game -okur, dirk) could be huge next to amare and nash.

Dude, those are just the big names. Naturally you can throw in role players and draft picks. Hell after the Darko experiment, I'm sure Dumars is leary of the draft. Really, has Detroit had a good pick in the last few years?

I cant believe what im reading. If Phx unloads Marion they might as well scrap the team and rebuild.Sheed is a step below Marion and the Celts only have expierers and young guys not ready to contribute to offer.

The Suns would be insane to do that. They are knocking on the door.Their a force in the paint and a good backup pg away.

Who ever said Sean Williams was spot on.He'd be a perfect fit if his head is screwed on right.
