if Harvard vs State Community College yes, an endowment matters, but when you are talking a large university like Rice vs Harvard, it doesnt matter as much. give it up, you dont know what the hell you are talking about.
Put it this way. People who get into Harvard/MIT/Princeton may have Rice as their BACKUP. But nobody who gets into Rice has Harvard as their backup. People who get into Harvard and Rice, they GO to Harvard. Harvard is a world famous university. Rice on the other hand is more commonly known as food.

Rice is a very good school, you do not know what you are talking about

you really are ignorant on this subject. once again, i personally know people who had Harvard as a backup and went to school like Middlebury or Emory instead. stop talking out of your ass. a name is not everything you dolt.

Its good for engineering. But don't compare Harvard with Rice. Harvard has a bigtime undergraduate program plus the superb Harvard Med school, Harvard law school, and the world famous MBA program.

Then they went on to work for Harvard grads as their bosses lol.

You are right it is known for engineering and how many architects would pick Harvard over Rice. Not many

How many plumbers would pick Harvard over some vocational trade school? I don't know. But a guy's chances of getting hired are much better if he has a degre from Harvard than just about anywhere else, regardless of the program. The prestige itself is a difference maker. That's reality imo.
Why the hell are you guys discussion school which neither person is attending?
Good point BigKingsFan, why am I discussing this.
I'm SecondFiddle everybodys friend and talented Fekze artist.
Why do I care, Starjordan I agree with you , your right.

once again not true. a Texas A&M grad will hire another Aggie over some Harvard nancy (thats how he'll view him) 95% of the time.

One last thing.
example...
In Public Health Michigan is the best
So if your in that field Michigan or Hopkins(Gates gives them his money) are the best places to attend grad school not Harvard.
It depends on where they get the most funding for your research and the connections you will make.
For undergrad who really cares where you go.

Then you need to step out of your bubble. For most America and worldwide companies, the Harvard name carries the weight. In fact most Ivy League grads will have an easy time compared to the other schools' alumni, both getting interviewed and also landing bigtime job offers.
