I think instead of getting the #9 we would more likely to get Duhon from the Bulls
but I just really don't see Deng and Gordon being packaged together, I would be the happiest kid if that's what we can get with Kobe
it would be something more along the line of Hinrich + Gordon + Duhon
as Chicago uses their #9 for a PG
or something as Wallace + Gordon + Duhon

I guess I'm just not used to the idea that getting the equal value out of a trade when it involves a superstar, it just hasn't happened in ages

and to think about it, since Kobe has a no-trade clause
unless the Lakers makes absolutely no move at all
he wouldn't choose to go to a team that has given up too much for him
where he doesn't have the chance to win a ship himself

you think that no-trade clause would never come in to play when he signed the contract
but now it appears that it is something that is hurting the FO
also if the Pacers deal go down without giving up Bynum
I wouldn't be surprised if Kobe is traded after this year if we don't make it deep in the playoff
because that would be the end of Phil + Kobe in Laker town

although this is just talk, id never want to trade kobe

Ben Wallace HAS to be included in the trade for salary equalization. Unless both Gordon and Deng, who have 1 year left each, re-up at a new salary prior to the trade.

which is why we should trade LO +#9 to Indy for JO. A frontline of Ben Wallace, JO, Deng. Sweet!. very solid D!

Kobe
Thabo
Noce\Khryapa

Maybe Kirk + Gordon + Noce + #9

Bulls
Duhon\rookie
Kobe\FA

Lakers
Kirk\Farmar\Vujacic
Gordon\Evans
Luke\Radman
[Odom\#9 or JO] Turiaf\Cook
Kwame\Bynum

they can use the #9 + Odom to trade for JO if they really want to keep Bynum

I don't think your math works in that trade.

i dont think we'd get duhon AND hinrich.....neither do we need both....ive heard chicago has no intention of getting rid of hinrich.....to be honest if we're given the chance to have deng OR gordon.....i'd take take deng, he's more of a dynamic player.....but gordon's tight too....there's no way this deal is going down....chicago would be out of thier minds to trade a young, well put together team for one shooting guard.....all chicago needs to do is add a scoring big man and thier in the finals......but hey, no complaining if they do the trade...right...

...if this trade went down i would dance and it would look a little something like this.............

one reason why I don't see the deal going down is the fact that Duhon is on the block and they are using their #9 pick which is against for trading for Lakers

and Gordon plays pretty much the role that Kobe does, so I think Gordon would be packeged in this deal easily, but not Deng, who is another promising young star

The bottom line, even if the Bulls were willing to give up that much, with Kobe's no trade clause, would he accept it? probably not

Bryant/Bynum for Deng/Gordon/Wallace/Duhon/#9

Then LA moves Odom/#9 for JON

Chicago:

PG:Hinrich
SG:Bryant
SF:Nocioni
PF:Thomas
C: Bynum

LA:

PG:Farmar
SG:Gordon
SF: Deng
PF:JON
C: Wallace

or if there is no JON deal you could do this:

PG:Farmar/#9 (Law?)
SG:Gordon
SF: Deng
PF:Odom
C:Wallace

are you kidding? kobe's whole life has been devoted to beating jordan's legacy, to play for the bulls he's jump at the chance...

I don't think that would motivate him. He has to go to a team that has a chance to compete for a ship. If Chicago were willing to gut the team for Kobe, leaving them with limited resources, then I don't think Kobe would go. Would he go if this was the roster:
Heinrich, Kobe, Noce, TyThomas/PJBrown, and Kwame/MLE ??
(or trade Kwame for another center)?

I think that is an attractive lineup. Then, in 2 seasons, KG will join him.

How about this trade:

LA trades:
To Chicago
Kobe
Cook
Farmar
To Indiana
Odom
Kwame

LA gets:
JO
Wallace
Deng
Thabo
Duhon
#9 pick

LA still keeps Bynum and he can learn from Wallace and JO. They get younger with Deng and Thabo, but have a veteran front line. With the #9 pick they can get another PG (Acie Law) with the loss of Farmar.

LA lineup:
Duhon
Thabo
Deng
JO
Wallace
Bench:
Acie Law/veteran guard (MLE)
Evans
Vlad
Turiaf
Bynum

Chicago trades:
To LA
Wallace
Deng
Thabo
Duhon
#9 pick
To Indiana
Gordon

Chicago gets:
Kobe
Cook
Farmar
Murphy
Foster

Chicago gets their "MJ" amd Kobe can show everyone in Chicago how good he really is.

Chicago lineup:
Heinrich
Kobe
Nocioni (re-sign)
Tyrus Thomas
Murphy
Bench:
Farmar
Griffin
Sweetney
Foster

Indiana trades:
To Lakers
JO
To Chicago
Foster
Murphy

Indiana gets:
Odom
Gordon
Kwame

Indiana gets a shooting guard,a replacement for JO, some cap relief and lose some of their "bad" contracts. Then they can build around their young players (Gordon and Granger).

Indiana lineup:
Tinsley
Gordon
Granger
Odom
Kwame
Bench:
Daniels
Dunleavy
Diogu
Harrington

not bad, but the Laker backcourt would stink. Who could hit a wide open J?

Good question. But if we try to keep Gordon, then Bynum would have to be traded for JO to come here and if worse comes to worse, I'd try to keep Bynum before Gordon. Besides The Lakers can find an outside shooting guard easier than a big man with talent. I also believe Thabo can become a good outside shooter. He's a good athlete and hustles. But you're right, this Laker lineup needs an extra shooter to make them that much better.

I think you send LO+#9+filler (from Chicago) to Indy for JO.
Kobe/Kwame
for
Gordon, Deng, Wallace, Duhon #9

Lakers Lineup: Duhon, Gordon, Deng, JO, Wallace
