they're still trying to get more out of the deal. It would be nice if the wolves could get Bonzi as well.
I doubt it they get Bonzi. I think he wants to play for Adelman and he is still thinking about picking up his 2.1M option, otherwise he is going to test the market. He wouldn't pick up his option to play for the Wolves.
Nice start to the offseason. Not bad (knew this was gonna happen eventually).
But it would be nice if we acquired more players in this particular deal.
A proposal that should look something like this:
Ricky Davis, Mike James for Luther Head, Juwan Howard, Kirk Snyder
Rockets' get an athletic 2-guard who can cover up many positions in Ricky Davis. Is an average scorer who can light it up easily.
We have Mike James, a predictable player, but can light it up one way or another. I'm sure he'll fit in with Adelmans system.
Wolves', on the other hand, get some crafty young talent and a ridiculous young shooter in Head. A young future duo of Head/Foye would be absolutely deadly. Wolves' also get a veteran who can fill up the void while Garnetts out, and a presence off the bench in Kirk Snyder.

i rather see the Rockets some how pickup a big man fron the Wolver like Eddie Griffin, Mark Madsen maybe or Justin Reed

Hell no. McHale can keep his MadDog for all I care. He is a great hustle guy, but not for the money he is making. Can't believe McFail gave him a 5 year deal (I think that's what I remember). Griffin, NEVER!!!
I don't know anything about Justin Reed. Besides, we need a starting PF, not a bench player. We might potentially have that bench PF if Chuck resigns with us.
Not sure how I feel about this, but I'm inclined to like it. The Rockets obviously acquire the better player, but he also has a longer contract and a trade kicker. Not getting any younger, and coming off a bad season relative to his contract year.
However, in his contract season he put up very Bibby-esque numbers, which is interesting because if you believe the rumors that the Rockets have been/are interested in Mike Bibby. Maybe this means they are ready to go forward with James as the starter, and will now focus on reeling in a starting 4. Battier + Alston could actually fetch a nice PF in my opinion. Then they could draft a backup PG, or hope that Spanoulis pans out. Then there's still the MLE and LLE to spend.
Time will tell, as always, but at this point in time it seems to be a step in the right direction.

As long as Rafer never plays 30+ minutes for the Rockets again, I'm happy. Hopefully he is traded, but I don't think V-Span is proven to be a back up pg yet.
on paper its a great trade for houston, they are gettng the better player. but like the dallas fan said above, the best tmac stopper is mike james on the same team. bring him off the bench when tmac sits and ill feel better about it.
question: does the trade kicker now expire after one use? or does it remain in effect throughout the life of the contract? i want the flexiility to move james if he isnt working out.
IMO, on a team that wants to contend for a championship, Mike James should not be a starter. He should just be an energy guy who comes off the bench and brings some instant offense... So, if they are hoping that this will push the Rockets over the edge? sorry but not even close.
