Travesty.

Because Finals MVP goes to the champion team. If the No MVP team you have actually won a title, they might have gotten the finals mvp.

But I also agree Duncan should get it haha he's the one carrying the spurs although the stat sheet doesn't show it. Everything the spurs have, both offense and defense starts with duncan

What do you think of me? Stupid?

Of course I know it goes to the champion team.

Its just a travesty to think that guys that great couldn't even sniff the award and someone like Parker gets it.

To Chauncey's defense, the year the pistons won the chip, we had 5 players who could of walked away with the finals MVP and each and everyone of them would of been called a "weak" finals MVP because our team was so even, no superstars, so i think calling chauncey a weak finals MVP is ludacris...

As the San Antonio Spurs seem headed for their fourth title in the last nine years, the Guys Behind The Glass came up with a song for the Spurs’ Tony Parker:

“Tony Tony”
(to the tune of “Mony Mony” by Billy Idol)
Words by “Joaquin” Kaplan
Sung by “Joaquin” Kaplan
Spoken words by Mike Greenberg

(Joaquin) Here he comes now take a look at Tony
(Greeny) Thirty points last night to lead all scorers!
(Joaquin) Shoots ‘em down, gets rebounds, hey that’s Tony
(Greeny) A very tidy thirteen of twenty from the floor.
(Joaquin) Still he don’t care: he’s got a hot future wife, yeah
(Greeny) He’s marrying Eva Longoria for cryin’ out loud!
(Joaquin)
So with a win or a loss it’s still a good night
And he’ll be alright
He says yeah (Yeah!)
Oh yeah! (Yeah!) Yeah! (Yeah!) Yeah! (Yeah!) Yeah (Yeah!)
He’s living a dream! (Tony Tony!)
Wow! (Tony Tony!)
Good! (Tony Tony!)
Where’s Eva? (Tony Tony!)
Whoo hoo!

Plus Tony got a better song than his teammate Tim Duncan…

This on the radio was great!

yeah im hoping Duncan gets it.

Even if Parker did deserve it, it would just feel so wrong.

I called it back when the Jazz defeated the GSW and I'll repeat it now:

At the beginning of May, I registered my new car. The license plate number I was (randomly) given ends with

TD - 76

76 being TD's birth year.

That was the omen, and it's still valid. TD = finals MVP this year. The plate don't lie.

You people are ridiculous. Tony Parker is averaging 24 points 4 boards and 4 assists and you guys are acting as though it would be a crime for him to get the Finals MVP award!?!

I understand there is an extraordinary amount of love for Tim Duncan on this site. But come on, is it really necessary to knock other players down to inflate Duncan's greatness?

Parker can hit baskets but overall IMO he is not MVP material. Bowen seems to be more of an all-around guy; TD shouldn't automatically be MVP.

There's no question as to whether or not Duncan is the best player on the Spurs. It is a matter of who was the most valuable player for this series. This is why guys like Cedric Maxwell and Jojo White win the Finals MVP. Tony Parker has easily been the most dangerous player on the Spurs this whole series. The Cavs simply can't contain him. For the matchup of Cavs vs. Spurs, Tony Parker is the MVP simple as that.

Tony Parker winning the Finals MVP does not degrade Duncan's status as a player or mean that Duncan = overrated . Duncan has always had a good team the past couple of years, this is nothing new people.

If Duncan doesn't have a phenominal 35/15 game, I think it'll go to Tony. But I don't want it to.

It should be most valuable for the playoffs. Winning against 1st, 2nd, 3rd round opponents is just as important as winning the last one.

Rodman was robbed in the Bulls-Sonics series of the MVP award.
