Yeah, the bottom line is that the Cavs made the finals and the Lakers did not and yes, the east isn't as good as west but in the end, it's only your assumption and nothing more. All we know is that the Cavs made the finals.
Could the Lakers do it? Coulda-shoulda-woulda. No way to know.
As for Bill Walton, I can only laugh.
As for Kobe, I fully understand his frustration. He's there, in his prime and they're saying no to all star players because of their future plans. Not to mention that they lied to him in the first place.
That's a betrayal and flat out disrespect.
I understand Kobe's frustration. I don't understand his comments on the radio, either stay or go. Apparently, he hasn't decided himself yet.
I think they told him they'd get JO and that changed his mind a bit although his status is still up in the air.
Most people think Kobe's frustrated because the team is bad. That isn't true.
He's frustrated because he feels they haven't even attempted to build around him but instead they chased some big name 2007 FA's at first and now it's Bynum who's blocking transactions for all star players.
So yes, I can understand Kobe's frustration.
Please stop making these absurd comments...What other group of fans engages in fantasy as much as laker fans?
Being a huge Lakers fan, I don't care much for the hypotheticals either. The bottom line is winning -- you gotta beat whoever you play. I don't care if it's East or West. Hell I don't care if it's in Spain, if the Lakers don't win I'm pissed.
Would it be easier if LA played in the East? Probably. However, ease does not guarantee victory. You gotta go and get the job donw.
This game is all about match ups, The Lakers wouldn't beat the Pistons because they match up very poorly vs them unlike the Cavs. Chauncey would destroy the Lakers point guards, Sheed alone would shut down the paint vs the Lakers unskilled inexperienced bigs, Tay will abuse Lamar on offense. Kobe would struggle at the palace of auburn hills like he always does, he'll light up the pistons in la tho, but they still wont beat em. You're kidding yourself if you think the Lakers wouldn't of got past the Arenas/Butler less Wizards and the Nets, even with their poor finish to end the season they would of gotten to the eastern conference finals with that easy path. Who the hell on the nets are gonna stop the Lakers inside, Mikki Moore?
