Re: Lakers don't want to trade Odom and Bynum for JO
Definitely agree Lakers > Kobe.
Now, I believe we can get a trade set up that involves something like this:
Indiana trades:
Jermaine O'Neal
Darrell Armstrong
Lakers trade:
Andrew Bynum
Kwame Brown
Vladimir Radmanovic
#19 pick
This gives Indiana their young talented center to rebuild around, expiring contract Kwame Brown, and European shooter that Bird loves. Plus another first round pick to start rebuilding with.

Chicago could/would offer a better deal than that.

Much better than you Laker offer of Bynum/Kwame/blah/#19
Indiana doesn't want Wallace's big contract. They want to rebuild. A roster of:
Jamaal Tinsley/Darrell Armstrong Ben Gordon/Marquis Daniels
Danny Granger/Andres Nocioni/Shawne Williams
Troy Murphy/Ike Diogu Ben Wallace/Jeff Foster
That isn't a winner. And it doesn't leave them much to trade or rebuild around.
Bynum/Kwame/Radmanovic/#19 pick might not make them a winner, but it gives them a future center to rebuild around and another draft pick. Also Kwame's contract comes off next year for cap room. Lastly, Bird likes to have European shooters like radmanovic
Re: Lakers don't want to trade Odom and Bynum for JO
chi said thet dont want 2 disrupt their nucleus even if it means kg (they might b bs'n on that 1) but I think the only thing the're dangling is noce, duhon, pick - which they hope will land somebody good.

That is not a championship team and we would not be able to change it.
Re: Lakers don't want to trade Odom and Bynum for JO
I think its important to make the deal anyway. Fact of the matter is that because of Kobe's trade demands and requests for a better team, the Lakers have little to no leverage in trade negogiations. Therefore, the deal currently on the table will probably not change. However, if the Lakers are in dire need of a player who can work in the post and defend the inside. This is why getting Artest is pivotal too. Defense is where this team must improve.

That would put the Lakers in the luxury tax for years to come.... no way they do that deal.

I think that's a great lineup, and one that will only get better as they develop together. Except Big Ben, but he'll give us a presence to allow us to compete until Bynum is ready.

Sorry, but this is the worst trade I have heard. We would be taking on WAY too much money and for far too long. Murphy and Tinsley both are extremely overpaid with 5 years remaining.
