Yep and you got the resident idiot on here trying to downplay that all in an attempt to shit on Bron. What a life he lives

Even 3ball will tell you Kryie and Ray Allen have the #1 and #2 GOAT finals shots of all time after taking the big picture into account.

It is what it is.

Someone sees the big picture.

You dont really defend Michael Jordan. You hate on Lebron James. There is a difference.

In 100 years Jordans shot will still be known. It will be like ruth calling his home run.

When MJ passes...that shot is gonna be the ending of his 5 hour long ESPN tribute show. Feel free to keep defending Jordan by acting like his greatest moment is overrated.

OK, we can rank final 6 minute performances of all time in the finals in another thread and obviously GOAT MJ will shit on all, but this ranking is about single shots in the finals. MJ has the the best compilation of game winning/tying shots in the finals either by himself or as an assist. It's not close. And just to keep a lestan honest, yes, he shits all over LeBron and does so during a time when it was harder to score the ball and much more physical.

1. 1991 NBA Finals Game 3 game-tyer
2. 1997 NBA Finals Game 1 game-winner over Russell
3. 1997 NBA Finals Game 5 go-ahead 3-pointer
4. 1997 NBA Finals Game 6 series-winning assist to Kerr
5. 1998 NBA Finals Game 1 tying-assist to Longley to send the Game to OT.
6. 1998 NBA Finals Game 6 series winning steal and shot

But none of these single instances are greater than what Ray Allen did in 13 or what Kyrie did in 16. You take in all the context, the shots, the difficulty, how they happened, what they meant...and you are left with the 2 most iconic shots in all of NBA finals history, with MJ's shot coming in at a very close #3. This has nothing to do with making LeBron's finals success look lesser than it is. That's a bonus fun fact. This has to do with the shots themselves.

I stopped reading right there. Don't make me dig out the posts defending MJ that don't even mention LeBron.

Shits ahead of Rumble in the Jungle and Secretariat winning that race by 12 miles. Should probably be a few spots higher. i'll accept a few of them being ahead. Jesse Owens in front of Hitler....Jackie robinson. The true biggest of the big moments.

Cool link man. Thanks.

I'll enjoy skimming through this during my next pitstop on the shitter.

At first glance though, i'm a little surprised Usain's Olympic efforts aren't higher but I suppose that's because his dominance is more-so of an accumulative nature as opposed to an isolated moment of greatness.

A clutch 2 point shot vs a clutch 3 point shot. When were those SI rankings published?

Yeah it seems odd for Phelps to be that high with bolt that low just because swimming has so many events.

After Ray but I think before Kyrie.

The Malcom butler Super Bowl interception is there so it has 2015 at least.

Would it make you feel better if someone said 2 out of the 3 greatest NBA finals shots of all time occurred by LeBron’s teammates? The fact that you think MJ needs to be diminished in order to diminish LeBron is actually comical. LeBron does that by his own failures.

People like us wouldn't exist if people were simply honest.

We respect the game and true greatness, so we're obviously upset when Bran destroys the integrity of the game and the sheep/media run with it.

Bran is the most excused and coddled player in SPORTS HISTORY.

Bran is a loser and a fraud.

I love Kyrie and Ray Allen, but lets be real Heat/Cavs still win both games even if they miss, so its hard to call them "greatest shots ever"

MJ's shot wasnt do or die. Ray's was. Thats why his ranks above both Jordan's and Kyrie's. That shot had more to do with capping MJ's career than the shot itself. If ron harper hit that same dagger it'd be another shot. Rays was shocking regardless of his individual legacy purely because of the context of the shot.
