Is he good? Can the Lakers get him?

Really...

Supposed to take the franchise after Kobe was gone..... didn't even last Kobe's retirement.

He must be running out of money because I doubt he really has any desire to play basketball. In his prime he was easily one of the top two or three centers in the NBA though so it would be kind of cool to see him try to come back but the game is also changed a lot

Kid never saw his prime doe... and the best year he had on the court he got checked pretty well by ****ing Perkins. I'm not sure how to value his contributions in 2010. It's sufficient to say missing him in 08 hurt us.

Lakers lost on this kid.... no way to spin it. Even the trade for Dwight turned bad....and we thought for a second we got the steal.... or so it appeared.

I don't think a post injury Bynum, with the current league view on traditional centers, will get a roster spot.

I don't think he wants a roster spot so much as a millionaire contract. Trying to fish in desperate waters....see which desperate, starving gold fish bites.

Nah, his breed of NBA center is more or less a relic, unless in the last 7 years he's developed some semblance of a 3 point shot and mobility to defend several feet outside the paint, or he was so overwhelmingly dominant like a Shaq to make up for what modern centers need skill-wise ( which he is light years from).

If its just about money, why doesn't he play overseas? I'm sure teams will throw money at him if he's healthy.

Can't believe Bynum is just 30 years old.

Yeah, seems like he's been around forever, I figured he was 32/33. Was surprised to see he's a month shy of 31.

that's what i'm thinking. Maybe try the chinese league. I have doubts that his knees can take the abuse of playing a full bball game at any pro level.

That aside, Kobe was gifted a title in 2009 because Garnett was injured, thus they were able to dodge the Celtics pushing their shit in again... and the Magic weren't mentally ready for the Finals despite the fact that they were a better team.

Why didn't they get their shit pushed in 2010 then when Garnett was healthy? The '09 Lakers were better than the '10 Lakers as well. 2010 was the first year Kobe began to decline, most noticeable during the first round against the Thunder. '09 Kobe was only slightly worse than '08 Kobe. I also think Ariza was a better fit than Artest, but Artest did a phenomenal job locking up KD in what was a pretty scary first round series even with KD shooting 35%. Still think Ariza would be better against Boston though. More reliable 3 point shooting.

Lakers would've had HCA. Beat Boston both times during the regular season. Think they win in 6, maybe 7 again.

In other words, he ran out of money

One of those guys that didn't like playing basketball, but when you're 7' and gifted you have no choice because the money is great.

Unfortunately for him teams don't put street cones in the center position anymore

If he learned to shoot the 3, he would be a starter in the league. But it likely that his legs are shot at this point.
