Would you honestly dispute any of his MVP's or FMVP's though? It'd be one thing if he had controversial or debatable selections like Nash or Iggy, but all the MVP's he's won have been inarguable

KAJ lost 4, Magic 4, Wilt 4. No one lost 5 or more and considered top 10. There's a price to pay when you can't get it done.

Aside from Bill, which other top 10 player has been to 8 straight finals ?

I think it's pretty clear at this point that only his strongest detractors (a minority at this point) will have him out of the top 5. Most will look at him top 3. I know it sucks for those that have spent his entire career downing him, but that's just the facts.

LOL @ Magic being top 10.

If James constantly gets criticized for not playing D the last few years, then how does Magic get praise for never playing D in his NBA career while never being the number 1 option for scoring?

Did you even watch basketball in the 80's?

Magic was 5-9 in 12 years in the Finals. More accomplished easily IMO than Lebron is after 15. Won in 87-88 with a geriatric KAJ and James Worthy. 2 more rings that your boy in less time, didn't join 4 different teams trying to chase a ring. While his finals are far from perfect like Jordan, he certainly deserves a seat at the Top 10 table.

Five always beats three. Same reason Kobe>Lebron.

Magic was fighting all time great teams like the 80's Celtics and the late 80's Pistons. 2018 lowly Pacers took Lebrick to 7 games. Think about that.

He will be top ten. He is not in my top 5 yet, but he will certainly be top 10 for a long time to come.

If Lebron slows down a great deal this year, doesn't make the playoffs or gets knocked out in the first round in the (best) West, will this adjust any of your rankings?
Basically it'd be 2 years winning 1 finals game in 9 tries, followed up by a first round exit. One the backside of his prime - 32/33/34. You know, the years Michael went 3-3 with 3 Finals MVP and was part of the only 70+ win team to win the chip?
Uhm, yeah.

I have Lebron hovering around the 8-10 spot but his career isn't over.
His highlights include a good shot to win a game vs. Orlando in 09, a monster game vs. Detroit in 2007, and a good playoff run in 2018 save the big games (Finals). Was 1A/1B with Kyrie in 2016, and had Wade/Bosh/ton of good role players in 2011-2014 and only won twice.
What else has he done really to deserve to be ranked this high (top 5?) Stats? Wilt has you covered there - don't see a 100 pt. game or a 50 pt season / 25+ rebound per game year out of LBJ anytime soon.

That's nice and all...... but none of it address' why Magic gets a pass for never playing defense and never being first option on offense.

Being top 10 requires at least one or the other. Magic specialized / was good at neither.

Calling a 54 win team "an all time great" team??...... thanks for the
