Re: Will anything ever top 07-08 Wayne?
Wayne was insanely popular back then. From what I remember in our era, the 2005ish 50 cent was hugely popular. Got to a point where it became a little bit disturbing to our teachers. One of my classmates older brother was like ~15 at the time and taught him the "Candyshop" song. We had an attractive 4th grade teacher who was 28-29 at the time and her assistant (even more attractive imo) was around 24-25 (they both knew of the song) and looked incredibly disturbed as we all sang the song on a way to a field trip lol. Granted at the time I really didn't know what the lyrics meant but I do remember my classmate smirking while singing it and looking at our teacher's face.
In terms of Drake? He was so popular at college house parties in Philly. Around 2011-2012, it got to a point where I felt I was in Toronto (where people still bump his music like crazy from what I've heard). It got annoying to a point where in my senior year in 2014-2015, my neighbors were like 19-21 at the time (since some were underaged, they used to buy kegs online where they just put it on our shared porch = I still don't get how our apartment's office didn't care granted half of them were college aged kids, they were still relatively quiet compared to frat kids down the block). They used to blast Drake 0 to 100 every freaking night from Thursday to Sunday night. Granted, I had a very light senior year schedule but this was a bit annoying when I tried to do 90% of my weekly course work by Saturday afternoon so I can go out back to back nights on Saturday/Sunday.
