Texas forward Kevin Durant is getting acclimated to what will likely be his new home.
The consensus NCAA men's basketball player of the year, who is expected to be taken second in the June 28 NBA draft by the Sonics, is making his first trip to the Seattle area to work with Eric Hughes, the team's basketball-skills coach, and Tim Manson, a conditioning coach, at the Athletes Training Institute in Bellevue.
According to an NBA source, the 6-foot-9 Durant won't work out for the Sonics, but he may interview with team representatives.
Neither the Sonics nor Durant's agent Aaron Goodwin, could be reached for comment.
The team released a list of workouts with prospects. Former Garfield High School star Marcelus Kemp, a Nevada junior, and Sammy Mejia, a DePaul guard, worked out Thursday at the Furtado Center.
News of Durant's arrival quickly spread through basketball circles in Seattle, and he has been spotted around town. A league source confirmed that Washington freshman Spencer Hawes called the Durant camp and asked if he could join him in a workout.
Meanwhile, Durant is training with Hughes, a former UW men's basketball assistant.

that's because they're fighting for that #1 spot, the loser ends up in seattle one way or another. Seattle doesn't need to work out anyone, who they pick is all up to the blazers.

Pretty much, and word will come out about how the workouts went. I don't think Seattle would learn much more than they already know. These two players have been watched intently all season and their strengths and weaknesses have been broken down several times. And even if either had a poor workout, I wouldn't see Seattle going with anyone else.
Wonder what would happen if Portlant decided to pick Durant (yes I know that's very unlikely), could they trade the 1st pick to Seattle for 2nd + future first or something like that ?
Could work out for both teams really if Portland decides that way, Oden is a much better fit than Durant in Seattle, especially if they keep Lewis, and Portland desperatly need a SF while they already have a pretty good PF/C combination, added value in the form of a future seattle pick, could make that very enticing.
Would love to watch that team, good luck doubling on Oden when you have Allen and Lewis on the perimeter
