Default Hawks may be considering Al Horford at no.3

The Hawks are seriously considering Horford with the third pick in the June 28 NBA draft, a team that has drafted five forwards consecutively with first-round picks dating back to the 2003 draft. - Atlanta Journal Constitution

That would be good for Atlanta.

I'm liking Yi or Wright to, but I think Horford will be drafted before Wright.

they really really really should draft mike conley. Josh Smith can play PF and Shelden Williams C.

y dont they just draft mike conley. if they dont draft him that would be a big mistake. they need a pass first point gaurd.

I think they're gonna blow it once again with passing on Conley and take Wright which is not a bad decision..I think Wright is gonna be better than Horford

Not picking Conely at #3 would tell you that the hawks management after drafting 5 fwds consecutively is still smoking crack and not trying to compete with acquiring the right chemistry for their ball club.

Hawks management- did not attend REHAB

I agree...passing on CP and D-Will or even Ray Felton is a clear sign something's wrong with that franchise...

Again Billy Knight is about to screw something up. I hope if he doesn't draft a point guard that he will sign one instead of trading for backup guards to be starters. I hope that he will sign Mo Williams or one of the free agent guards if he doesn't draft a guard cause he don't he might as well call it a wrap and pack his bags and those stupid 8 owners too. All of them are retards. The 8 owners don't care about the Hawks they just using the Hawks as a tax write off, I hope Belkin take over.

This team is so hard to figure out. They have drafted Childress, Smith, Marvin Williams, and Sheldon Williams in recent drafts. That is more than enough forwards. Smith and Marvin start, Childress and Sheldon are the backups. Joe Johnson is the SG.

That clearly leaves PG and C as their two biggest needs. Of course the 3rd, 4th, and 5th best players in the minds of a lot of people are forwards. That leads to the problem of drafting maybe the 6th best player with the 3rd pick, or trading down and risk missing on him.

I like to pride myself in being able to put myself in the shoes of NBA decision makers and making the best choice possible, but I just can't figure this one out. I guess I would trade down to the 6th spot if possible. I'm not sure who would be in the trade, but I do think the Bucks would get a great player to go next to Bogut in Horford. But then to the Grizz grab Conley since they have two pretty decent young forwards in Gay and Warrick? If they don't and the Hawks do get Conley with the 6th pick, I think they sit in perfect postion to get Spencer Hawes.
