Default Official SLAM mag thread

The magazine is getting worse and worse. The new editor is, unfortunately, crap, and his responses in trash talk are far from funny. The contests? So childish, and why do they challenge us to make nicknames for players that aren't even that memorable!? And it is so pointless continuing articles in the back of the magazine when you could just finish them in the middle. I used to love SLAM, and I still got love for them, but I hate to see them breaking down. So, what do you guys think? The new covers are hot, but everything else? Not so much. Post anything about SLAM here

It sucks.

I swear the articles are written by 6 month old monkeys. They would rather focus on street cred rather than say, I don't know, good writing and interesting articles? When Scoop "The Racist" Jackson left I thought it would get better. But somehow, after getting rid of that ignorant ass clown the magazine actually got worse.

I canceled about 18 months ago after like a 3 year subscription, it just got worse and worse with each issue. I used to love opening my mailbox and seeing a brand new SLAM waiting for me, now I don't even pick it up to skim when I'm at the book store. I can't even imagine how bad it is now.

I had a letter in there that got published about a year and a half ago. I was applying Vanilla Ice lyrics in regards to the Cavaliers, if anyone remembers that

I know what you mean with Gerald Wallace in the new issue, but you think Josh Howard in not memorable? He deserves a better nickname than J-Ho, don't you think?

The magazine has dipped down a bit, though I still like the Old School sections. They better watch out, or other mags like DIME will takeover.

no i love josh howard as a player, but really when you think about it all-time greats, Dr. J, larry legend, Air Jordan, etc. get nicknames. SLAM pretty much broke their rules when they gave him the nickname J5 cuz they said it shouldn't be initials or letters
