a player who scores only 14 pts a game doesnt deserve to be an allstar and a inconsistent player doesnt either

I don't think he will be an all star. Doesn't mean he isn't any good though.

I dont think he will, on his merits alone. Unless he has a monster year, sadly he will probably be edged out by other all star caliber players from the west. Plus, many of the stellar things that he brings to the floor, are details that dont end up credited in the stats sheet.

I dont think he will unless he starts playing above the rim like more dunking on dwight and other players.

I have seen people average 25 points in one season and still were not named all stars (jim jackson).

You have to do more than score. If he is a flashy passer, dunker, blocker....thats whats going to get him noticed.

Scoring isnt everything...what lamar does is provide the all aound game few players his size are able to do. He ended last season off stepping up the scoring and providing the all around game. If the lakers can do better by allstar break and LO continues to play the all around game...then he should get heavy consideration to be a reserve...Mostly the Lakers need to win more games for him to get real consideration...When Jim Jackson avged 25ppg, the Mavs were dirt...which is why he didnt get voted in

Then why did Sheed make it? Lamar actually had a better allaround statistical season. Sheed only made it cause his team was winning if the lakers were winning like that then hell Mihm probably woulda got some all-star talk.

This is actually true.

Antawn Jamison wasn't an all star when he was on golden state because they were losing but he was contributing about 20-25 per game.

He is on Washington, a winning team, and now look at antawn.

Just remember he killed the Matrix in the playoff sieres with the Suns. He gained alot of confidence the second half of the season. I do think he found a comfort zone in the offense and hope he carries it over next season. I have him recorded on tivo throwing a dunk down on Ratliff that was flat out amazing, anybody who saw it knows what Im talking about. Their is only a few NBA players that can match his talent level and his ability to make players better. He just needs to learn to have the killer mentallity and he will be an all-star for many years to come. If there is any computer wizards out there that can find that dunk on Ratliff, it was at the end of the year it was the last game against the Blazers. Please post the clip and make the Laker nation jump out of their chairs as I did when I saw it live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS My heart goes out to Odom and his family for the loss of their 6 month old child.

his baby died, i wouldnt be surprised if his career goes either one way or the other in dramatic fashion, seems like that would really affect a player.

Ben wallace averages about 7 ppg and is always an all star.

Maybe lamar should grow an afro.....

Bad comparison...Ben wallace is the best defensive player in the league...he can average 2 points a game and he would make the all-star team becasue he is the best at what he does...it would be harder for odom...he isnt the best at what he does... but he does have potential to become an all-star player based on the way he played at the end of the season...getting near triples on any given night...if lakers improve...he will make the all-star team...

hrmm depends.

will he be better that tim duncan, KG, nowitzki, tmac, shawn marion, amare, , brand, melo, rashard lewis, gasol, ak47, etc..?

not sure bout tmac and amare's position but if he can be among the top4 with those guys then he can be an allstar..
