Martin, Patterson, and Denver's 07 1st rounder for Damp, Stack, and Pavel.

Denver clears about 18 mill off their books and replaces Martin with Damp whose got a more movable contract if the need be, and gets rid of 2 misfits and adds a SG that can help them and fits well and hope to resign him for a much cheaper price after this year. They can move Nene to PF and get Damp to be Camby's insurance.

Dallas adds that defensive PF they need to battle Amare and Duncan and hand the Center job to Diop full time with Benga and Dirk occasionally backing him up and add on a late 1st round draft pick in next year's talent rich draft. Patterson also helps them as a defensive specialist off the bench to throw at the Kobe, TMac, Wade types for a few minutes.

I doubt that Dallas trades for another awful contract. Stackhouse expires IIRC, with Martin and Damp they would have 2 of the worst contracts in the league

Dallas might offer Stackhouse for Martin.

Then Dallas can move Dampier, since they just traded for Croshere.

And in trading Croshere, they can try to get a wing player, or they can sign someone like Mike James at MLE level money.

Or they could offer Croshere for Martin, and Denver might take it to get rid of Martin's contract.

If Dallas was able to get rid of Dampier, then picking up Martin for similar money the next couple of years isn't too bad. If the Hawks were able to pick up multi-year contracts, Dampier would be a decent player for the Hawks.

I don't like Stack in Denver. He and Melo would clash as far as their play is concerned, their pretty close to the same, unless Stack would come off the bench. Denver needs three point shooting.

I think Howard would work as the two considering they have versatility on their bench with Devin Harris. On occasion you can play Harris, Terry, and Howard at the same time. You would be giving teams quite a few different looks. If Ager turns out to be a player this year, he may be interesting as well.

Martin is completely ineffective without a point guard who can make decent passes, which the Mavs do not have.

He'd get bored without ally ooping all game.

Exactly, this is why I don't think it is good for the Mavs.

I don't understand how Martin fits in Dallas without messing everything up, especially when you consider that they'd have to give up a guard to do it.

you guys have got to be kidding, Dallas is not going to just give away Dampier for awful contracts. i dont care if he doesnt start, he gets the starter minutes and is still the better C between him and Diop.

This could be the only time Avery's inexplicable love of stack helps the mavs. I will throw up if the mavs trade for kmart.

Highway robbery for the Mavs.

Although what's this about responsible spending, Cubes? Martins got the worst contract in basketball at this point.

Kmart can play the 4 and only the 4. The mavs have at worst the second best 4 in the nba. He would get 10 minutes a game and that would piss him off. This is a terrible idea. Fortunately it aint happening.

This trade makes absolutely no sense for the Mavs. Guys you gotta realize Stack isn't the reason the Nuggets want this deal; Stack's contract is. It's expiring. It's just wiping Kmart clean from the roster while not losing money. Nuggets surely know they don't need Stack.

They'd move Dirk around the 3, 4 and the 5, and at times Dirk would play the post, and K-Mart would play in the post, Dirk is versatile enough to guard the 3 4 and 5, and K-Mart is athletic enough to guard a C, especially if he's healthy next year.

Default Martin for KVH in as ign in Trade

Maybe soemthing along those lines, and they can Sign KVH to a one Year contract and Dallas and if that does not work

then htis might

Stack and KVH sign and Trade for

Martin and Buckner Sign and Trade Bucker takes Stack minuts all long wiht Ager and Harris.

OF coure I like Stack and he is oen fo the few players that played hard in Gmae 6,, him and Quis,, Stack took big shots while Dirk drifted away no Hasselhoof land in the crunch,

Possibly, but also Stack fills their gaping hole at SG, and he's a well known scorer. If he panned out, they'd surely bring him back.
