Personally, I'm surprised Gallipoli and Glory weren't on the list, and I thought Return of the King was better than Fellowship of the Ring. I don't think Titanic belongs there, either, despite all of the Oscars it won. I thought Cuckoo's Nest should have been in the top 15, too.

Any one else with thoughts?

I think they were only listing the first movie if it was a trilogy like that. FOTR was #1 so they listed that as a representative for the whole series. Just like they did with Star Wars at #13.

I'm also not a big fan of The Sixth Sense. Its a good movie but not top 100 all time, IMO

Is Memento an American film though? I thought it was an international picture.

I think a lot of the movies on that list are good but overrated... (Unforgiven, Saving Private Ryan, The Sixth Sense, Titanic, Schindler's List)

Others I don't like personally, but I agree with them being on the list for the importance they hold to American cinema... (Gone With the Wind, E.T.)

so I guess those are my thoughts

Am I the only one that despises Mr. Smith? Not just because it's boring, but it truly just is not a good movie.

Yes!! I love movie threads.

It is quite different from the previous Top 100. I can't believe they have Raging Bull at #4, I love that movie but I didn't realize it's considered that great. I'm glad they also have 2001: A Space Odyssey at #15, I would put it higher on my personal list but at least 15 is high.

WTF? They took off Amadeus and added Saving Private Ryan and Titanic? What a load of sh*t. Amadeus blows those two out of the water. Apocalypse Now and Godfather Part II both deserve to be higher as well.

And The Sixth Sense definitely deserves to be up there.

I concur. Those movies and toy story have got to go. Glad to see Some like it hot up there!
Titanic is a terrible movie (plot, acting) dressed up with special effects.
