5 most overrated baseball players (not in order)
J.D. Drew--5 tool player, but can never stay healthy. Cannot count on him, as he is also extremely inconsistent. Will always be vilified in Philly for what he did to them, and has bounced around the league in recent years.
Bobby Abreu--Whatever happened to his power? It has completely disappeared. Yeah, he does have a great eye and can draw walks, but when you need a guy to occasionally lift the bat off his shoulders and put the ball into play, he's not that guy anymore. Also, while he does have a good arm, plays too tentatively in the outfield.
Andruw Jones--His attitude is too laidback (is batting .202 and was quoted as saying that batting average isn't important to him), he doesn't have the range that he used to, and he's not dealing with the pressures of free agency very well. He's only 30 and should be in the prime of his career, but he has also been around for a long time and his years of playing 150+ games every season appear to be catching up to him.
Adam Dunn--Should be entering the prime of his career, but has never improved. There's always some bullsh!t story each offseason about him trying to improve his ability to hit line drives and such, but this has never happened. With the way he plays, he might as well as be 37 instead of 27, because his skills are reminicient of that of an older player (homeruns/strikeouts/walks are about all he gets). Also, he takes terrible routes on balls hit to the outfield.
Barry Zito--A decent, durable pitcher who also happens to be lefthanded, but certainly not worth the money. THey will eventually regret this season. Should never be put in the position to be the ace of a staff. Has the great curveball, but can't blow anyone away.
