They did indeed go on a hot streak, but they played some poor teams. They beat up on a fading White Sox team, a horrible Pirates team, an OK D-Backs team, and a Mets team that was slumping badly at the time.

I hope they dont either.

He's on the DL now, so he cant be traded for now.

Age, injuries, a godawful bullpen, and the worst hitting lineup I have ever seen. No manager can get this slop to play good baseball. Ozzie is probably gone in the offseason anyways. Not sure if he wants to go through a true 3-5 year rebuilding plan.

Which is very surprising given some of the names (Dye, Thome, Konerko, Podsednik, etc)

At least they got a ring out of it.

Uhh... Podsednik blows. He's had one good year offensively (rookie year with Brewers) and that's it.

Thome is still having a solid year. Konerko is just slumping, he'll come around. Dye is getting "older" when you consider the injuries he's had through his career. Last year was kinda flukey for him.

The Yankees are not going after any big ticket items this off season. They will need to sure up the bullpen and get a 1st baseman. The only big trade that was rumored was Dye for Abreu a while ago. The Yanks are not going to do anything retarded going after big names at the expense of the farm system.
If you are a Yankee fan we are not going for Dunn or Texiera or any other big names. I believe Shea Hillenbrand was the last guy they were looking at.
Bernie Williams isnt playing for the Yanks anymore time to get over it! He cant hit that good and his range and arm is worse than Johhny's.

The problem with the Chicago White Sox they cant pitch and their defense went to hell....

Brad Lidge was demoted out the closers role now he's on the DL the only way he can get moved for something meaningful at this point is for him to go back in the closer's role since Wheeler cant handle it apparantly or let Qualls do it mixing and matching.

Texas needs to have a fire sale... Sosa has 13 HR and 59 RBI'S he is worth something...
