On the subject of players being stupidly let go, Daniel Ewing was waived and James Singleton is now a free agent, too (Clippers didn't pick up his option).

Somebody go get these decent roleplayers!

I see the Cats are keenly interested in obtaining bloated contracts (JRich) while jettsoning reasonable, moderate ones (Knight).

Eh... not sure I want another guard that can't shoot. They could always waive Wesley and grab Knight, though. Anything is an upgrade over Wesley.

He could become the backup pg phoenix didn't had with marcus banks, but they seem to prefer saving money, a veteran minimum? plus Grant Hill, recrutment will be ok, a big man could be good too...

I would love to see the Suns go out and sign Singleton, Hill and Knight.

Knight is a solid veteran point guard.

He'd be great in Miami, Phoenix, Cleveland, Washington, Los Angeles Lakers or Clippers.

I don't know why Charlotte didn't make a deal with Cleveland.

They could have offered Brevin Knight for Larry Hughes.

The Cavs would get rid of Hughes's big contract and gotten cap space and a trade exception, and gotten a solid point guard in return.

The Bobcats would have gotten a player similar to Jason Richardson, plus they could have kept the draft rights to Brandan Wright.

And 10 years in the league haven't changed the fact that he's only 5'8" and that means defensive liability on a team that stresses defense.

Of course Mike Brown stresses defense and then still plays Damon Jones, so.....

Snow would just be promoted as an assistant coach of the Cavaliers.

Brevin Knight isn't all that much better then Eric Snow man. They're both the same age, thus both 'aging' as you call it. The only real difference between them is that one is going to be cheaper then the other. Think about it, they both can't shoot, they both can pass at a fairly decent level and they both only make teams because of their defense. There isn't much of a difference between them, except maybe Knight is a little more effective then Snow.

By the way, is player to coach even a 'promotion'?

The Cavs could offer snow to the Wolves for Marco Jaric.

The Wolves get a backup for Foye, while the Cavs get a younger wing player.

Never thought of that, actually. On second thought though, isn't Jaric's contract 5 years and 7 or 8 mill a season. Doesn't seem like a trade able asset for the Wolves. They'll probably keep him for the next 3 or 4 years just because there's really no realistic chance of trading him away.

One of the best things that could happen to the Cavs this year is if some of these guys started retiring, and freed up some of that money.

But Knight is a big upgrade over Snow in the passing department. Problem is, Snow is a BIG upgrade over Knight in the defense department.
