word on the streets is boston wants simmons or rondo...two guys most people are confident will be there at 16. 7 is waaay too high for either one. bulls are looking to draft brandon roy at #2 and then draft Tyrus Thomas at #7 because he is slipping.
the draft is only 48 hours away! the closer to the draft, the more truth there is behind these rumblings. you better get used to this idea C's fans, it could be going down real soon.
I like Duhon starting at the Point for Boston. He'd be lights out next to PP.

The question is...is he BETTER than Delonte West? The answer is NO. Therefore, he wouldn't be starting. One.
It all depends on if the C's want to run and gun with the result being missing the playoffs for another year or they can actually try to run a set offense and duhon is the perfect playmaker for that. High basketball IQ, brilliant floor general...it makes sense.
Delonte West, in case you were wondering, a better overall player than Duhon.
But I am for this trade. Duhon makes the pg spot secure for us, and the 16th pick could still net us Saer Sene. I'll take Duhon and Sene over Marcus Williams.
And if we trade for Duhon, no way do we draft Rondo. That wouldn't make sense when we still have Delonte and are at least invested in Dickau.
Quote:
Production wise we're basically getting Dan Dickau 2 and dropping 9 spots in the draft, how does this benefit the team?
There's a difference, and it's major: Duhon is a good defender. If Dan could defend he'd probably be our starting point guard.
First of all, Delonte West is a better all around player, a better shooter, a better scorer, more athletic and more clutch than Chris Duhon. Chris Duhon has NEVER impressed me and Delonte West converted me because I always liked Marcus Banks better than him starting until I saw what he could do at the one this season. Delonte isn't a PURE PG...if the C's get a chance at Marcus Williams, cool...but NOT Chris Duhon...he's just mediocre. I don't see the Celtics making any noise in the East with Duhon starting at point. Dan Dickau would be the Celtics starting point under NO CIRCUMSTANCES. The ONLY reason he ever started in the NBA was because he was on a HORRID team in New Orleans. He can't defend and he's at best a backup...I just would like him to backup SOMEONE ELSE...in another city.
Saer Sene is a PROJECT. He can turn into a rehash of Jerome Moiso..he isn't a proven player yet and he wouldn't help the C's IMMEADIATELY...they need to make the playoffs THIS SEASON. There's NO chance in hell of them doing that with Chris Duhon OR Saer Sene in green...haven't the C's made ENOUGH bad moves? Duhon and Dickau? LMAO! One.
West has one good game (by good I mean passable) and the next two games are worthless performances.
He has no natural point guard instincts. PP needs a point guard.
Chris Duhon is the next closest thing to Brevin Knight (an ideal fit in Boston), but Duhon has started to develop 3 point range, and is respectable when left open. He defends very well, and is a very good passer. Perfect fit.
Pick 16 is not that much of a downgrade from Pick 7. And there will be some really good players at that spot. Hilton Armstrong or Saer Sene should be available then. Oleksiy Pecherov or Patrick O'Bryant may even slide there.
exactly, do you want to continue to support the new york/east coast mentality that all that matters is highlight reel plays on offense or do you actually want to run a respectable system with defense?

With all due respect (as in, none) you're clueless. Delote's efficiency is at 15.28; Duhon is at 11.45. Delonte shoots 49%; Duhon shoots 40%. Duhon does have an advatage in apg that would probably grow if he had Delonte's minutes. And that's the only edge he has. One or two good games? I don't even know what you're talking about, and you probably don't either.

That's Delonte, the one-man And1 Mixtape tour. Idjit.
