Default If Toronto picked Brandon Roy instead of Bargnani...

Do you think it will make them a better team with this lineup assuming they did not trade Charlie.

Roy
Peterson/Parker
Charlie V
Bosh
Rasho

or if they traded Charlie for ?

Roy
Parker/Peterson
?
Bosh
Rasho

Bargnani > Roy

even though Roy won ROY... but he had the advantage going into a team with little scoring talent... i would pick Bargnani over Roy anyday... he's gonna turn out like (if not better than) Dirk...

Not only is TJ ford a better point guar than Roy, but also Bargnani has amazing upside. I'd rather have Ford and Bargnani than CharlieV and Roy.

Also.. CharlieV was a waste in Toronto. He couldn't guard the SF and with Bosh there was no way he could get the minutes at the PF position. It's not liek Bargnani can play teh SF or C all that good either.. as opposed to playing the PF... but I'll take Bargnani at C than CharlieV at SF.

And yes, Ford fits the Toronto style of play more than Roy.

So you want Roy running the 1? I'd still do that TJ Ford Villy trade.

I would have never pulled the trigger on that one, I wouldnt have offered TJ a contract extension either. yes, raps were desperate for a pg, but I woulda kept CV and paid for the best pg possible in FA even if it meant not winnning 47 games this year. CV is too talented, he was the best passing big man the Raps ever had.

I know Bargnani has all this potential and he's Dirk Jr. + a shotblocker, but I would rather take the sure thing in this case. Roy will be an All-Star type of player for the rest of his career, Bargnani could just be another Nachbar.

bosh, roy, TJ trio would be great better than the current one, isn't the Raps weakness points from the wing. Yes bargs is a good prospect but Roy's not a long term prospect(not that bargs is gonna take that long to develop just that roy is more ready) and can be impactfull sooner than bargs, the fact that he fills a weakness makes it perfect.

We had no point guard as Calderon had yet to break out, Villaneuva's value was at an all time high and he had no real fit on the team as he was in the shadows of Bosh who was better then Charlie. Villaneuva couldn't defend the small forward position, well he couldn't defend at all, but in order for him to stay he needed to defend the small forward spot which he couldn't do. In return for Villaneuva, they got one of the best young point guards in the game, a fantastic play maker who, along with Jose Calderon, were absolutely vital to our team success this year. It remains an outstanding trade by Colangelo.

Roy is better than Bargnani if you think he will become a Dirk then talk to me when he becomes one. Roy is better than Bargnani there really isn't much of an argument.

Because:

1) Nobody cares about Toronto, no matter how much is achieved there.
2) He couldn't grab a board if you put a gun to his head.
