Default James Singleton declined

Quote:
Clippers Waive Ewing, Decline Option On Singleton

The Los Angeles Clippers today waived guard Daniel Ewing and declined to exercise the third-year contract option on forward James Singleton, it was announced by Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor.

Singleton, who originally signed with Los Angeles as a free agent prior to the start of the 2005-06 NBA season, averaged 2.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 10.1 minutes per game over his two-year career with the Clippers. In a related matter, the Clippers also declined to tender Singleton a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent as of July 1st.

Not huge news, but Singleton can be a very nice player for some teams. He can do about the same thing Haslem brings. Very nice rebounder. And he can score some points.

Which team could bring him in?

Also: shouldn't the Clips make a push for Brevin Knight? He was dumped by the Cats too....

i'm very surprised both of them got waived...singleton played well when he got minutes as did ewing for the most part...and considering their lack of depth at the PG position, it's very surprising...

Donald Sterling has officially ticked over to tight ass mode again.

Sounds like a good fit for the Kings.

this is weird, I have a feeling that they're going to tank the coming season so they can become a lottery team next draft. Is OJ MAyo old enough to be on the draft next year? please everybody don't answer at the same time.

I'd take Singleton on the Mavs in a second.

My hope was Kwame/19th Pick for Artest.

I was hoping the Kings would package the 10th and 19th for a pick in the top 6, maybe Milwakee or Boston.

But it would take more than just Kwame for Artest, maybe Farmar or Crittenton.

I'd rather do Haslem/Williams for Artest, seeing as though we didn't draft a PG and Haslem is a legit PF. And that would allow us to trade Mike Bibby also

Kings got a good deal at the time. I still remember the day they traded Jason for Mike.

But Kings need to move in a different direction.

Though his numbers are unimpressive, I've always liked Ewing when I've seen him play in the NBA.

Toronto should grab him for cheap for when they trade Calderon or (if they keep Calderon) for if Ford gets hurt.

I respectfully disagree, Ewing has no decent jumpshot which is a must when ur a PG, unfortunately, he's just another Omar Cook or MAteen Cleaves who's going to dissappear before our eyes.
