I heard celtics is not done trading, they'll trade to get KG, VC, JO and Gasol, so hopefully this is enough to make the playoffs.

What with the way Rivers, Ainge, and his teammates have spoke about him and growing up the last couple of years, I don't think you can really even use that against him anymore.

Default some questions

props to you maxfly for challenging the guy in the barber shop-- he was talking out of his a$$. pp is an all star-- any knowledgeable fan of the nba gives him respect

i like how you just asked him a simple question about which 8 teams would make the playoffs and he couldnt respond. a guy making a claim but without any backing...

reminded me of when i used to live in san antonio and would watch games with spurs fans who would spout off all sorts of smack. i would ask them a simple question such as "why do you think parker is better than kidd?" and they would hem and haw... emotional and rabid fans--but ignorant (unlike sskspurs21!!)

i would be excited if i were a celts fan (i am a ray allen fan) in that ray ray, garnett and pp will blowup and be a fun team to watch. they could be a middle seed in the playoffs this year

my question are: there has been so much turnover on the team, the players will need to get to know one another. this takes time. it wont be done in the first year.

by the second year, all will be a little older and i am not sure how it will play out.

also, the point guard situation isnt looking good for you guys. who do you have at this point-- eddie house? rondo? that is key position if you want to advance in the playoffs

I agree... as excited as I was initially when we aquired KG, I realized that it would indeed take some time for the team to gel. Though we are out east, I don't consider us a lock for the NBA finals. Our bench is relatively weak, injuries are always a factor, and we still need to sign a defensive big man... (apologies to Scott Pollard).

We're hoping that Rondo turns into the point guard we we think he can become and he's had spurts where he's played like the point guard we've need him to be. If he can produce consistently from that position, we should be ok... I'm more concerned about our big man issue... Perkins and Pollard don't exactly bolster my confidence... It's a pipe dream, but I'd love for us to get Mutombo...

and as for staying on topic... break that old man's hip... anyone who says "i dont have to name 8 teams, i just know it" deserves a tap upside the head no matter how old he is... but really... PP is still amazing, he finally has some players to take the pressure off his shoulders, and dont anyone even mantion 'toine. and the celts SHOULD get past the 1st round, depending on the matchup... people keep talking about their depth, but so long as their big 3 plays 37-40 mpg, which they should considering NONE of them has to shoulder the load, depth won't be as big of an issue as people think... until the later rounds of the playoffs that is... detroit proved that the past few seasons imo...

if anything maxfly, you should have gathered the opinions of others around you instead of bickering with that fool... no chance people would agree with him.

he would be a good backup-- but its looking like he is leaning toward re-signing with the rockets

any deals for a pg in the works?

brevin knight, who signed with the clippers last week, would have been a decent pickup

I think they should do the opposite. The Spurs IMO have proven that your main 3 guys need rest so they can be fresh during the playoffs and the Celtics might not be a deep team but this is gonna help their bench. Give guys like Tony Allen, House, etc. confidence. They need another PF off the bench and that's a decent 3 guys off the bench IMO. I'd only play KG/Ray/Pierce 33-35 MPG. They're all like 30+ so rest is gonna be an issue for them. The past few seasons the Pistons with Flip don't use their bench enough and they fall apart in the playoffs because the only guy used to getting PT off their bench is McDyess.
