I asked for a scouting report on him a week ago. What was said is that he's on the Gomes/Haslem mold physically (6'7, 240) except that he has a longer wingspan (It's around 7 feet). He was a monster athlete before he started needing knee surgeries and still has some of that left but is now not so extreme with it. Averaged 20 and 10 last year as a sophomore, and was a medical redshirt the year before.
NONE of y'all ever HEARD of Leon "The Show" Powe before? Apparently, I'm the only one here who reads Slam and Dime Magazine. I've been hearing about this dude since he was 14 years old. He was easily one of the most dominant and explosive post players I've ever seen in high school and even in college at Cal...he pretty much carried that entire team on his back. The kid is an Oakland legend...and there are PLENTY of those. I haven't seen him since his last injury but he is a beast that has a great post/offensive game, he can rebound like a monster, block shots and (at least before his injuries) he could jump out of the gym an dunk with POWER. I'm surprised that people are clueless about him, he's been a big deal for years. One.
yeah celts got big steal in Powe hes a great athlete i honestly expect him to step in the line up right away maybe bump big Al of up to 5 and play powe at 4.
Jefferson
Powe/Gomes
The Truth
Wally ( honestly i think u guyz got ripped in that trade ricky is way better)
West/Telfair (i expect telfair to turn his game up next season)
Its a shame that more people dont know about Powe but that will definitely be changing. He was a monster at Oakland Tech and was the second highest ranking high school senior in his class next to Lebron James. He was also a beast at Cal and Boston got a serious steal. Its crazy he fell off the radar the way he did. It wont be long before hes starting in Boston and he can actually play the 3 and the 4.
