Default Re: Lottery Mock Draft 1.0

Just some comments on my mock, the trade between Philly and Seattle involves the Sonics' other first round pick to go to Philadelphia. I did it because Philly needed a PF, and Arthur was the only one available. Seattle would gladly move up to get Rose to pair with KD and Jeff Green. The Knicks pick I did because I have them reaching on a defensive-minded center. By no means is this pick a sign of disrespect toward Knicks fans. I thought about Jordan to the Suns, but decided to take a player that better fits their system.

Completely horrible

1.Sacramento-OJ Mayo(need for playmaker)
2.Clippers-Darrell Arthur(with Mayo off the board, helps replace Brand if he leaves)
3.Minnesota-Roy Hibbert(Center is their biggest need and they'll stretch)
4.Philadelphia-Michael Beasley(Need for a SF/PF to pair with Iggy)
5.Phoenix(Via Atlanta)-Nicolas Batum(Perfect for their style of play)
6.Indiana-Eric Gordon(Need SG,Gordon is from Indianapolis)
7.Portland-Donte Greene(Rashard Lewis Jr,front court of Greene,Aldridge,Oden is scary)
8.Seattle-Chase Buddinger(Buddinger is a freakish athlete at SG,Dunleavy with athleticism)
9.New York-Traded.They're going to make some moves next offseason too early to predict what they'll do here
10.Charlotte-DeAndre Jordan
11.Cleveland-Derrick Rose(yes he will definetly slip unless somebody trades up)
forget the rest

Why is Seattle drafting a PG?They already have 3

2 Michael Beasley PF/SF
01/09/1989; 69; 220 lbs. Philadelphia 76ers (SEA)
Kansas State, Freshman
Yes.

3 Derrick Rose PG
10.01.1988; 64; 190 lbs. Portland Trailblaizers
Memphis, Freshman
Portland has 5 PG's already

4 Nicolas Batum SF
12/14/1988; 68; 209 lbs. Milwaukee Bucks
Le Mans Basket, France
If Milwaukee is this bad they'll most likely trade this pick to get Redd some help

5 Roy Hibbert C
12/11/1986; 72; 272 lbs. Sacramento Kings
Georgetown, Senior
No Possible Way.NEVER

6 Chase Budinger SG/SF
05/22/1988; 67; 190 lbs. New York Knicks
Arizona, Sophomore
No.Isiah is too hard to predict, this pick will probably be apart of a trade

7 Brook Lopez PF/C
04/01/1988; 611; 230 lbs. Los Angeles Clippers
Stanford, Sophomore
Lopez hurt his stock with his suspension,he might fall

8 Tywon Lawson PG

North Carolina, Sophomore
Raymond Felton is their PG,Charlotte needs a C

Indiana, Freshman
Dead On.

10 Danilo Gallinari SF
08/08/1988; 69; 209 lbs. Golden State Warriors

UCLA, Junior
Conley,Lowry,Navarro.Do you watch basketball?

Rose at 11 is laughable. I can see your love for OJ shining through, but I don't see a team that needs a playmaker drafting him over Rose. If anything I can see Rose's stock a little higher than Mayo at draft time, with more than one team drooling at a franchise-caliber point guard. Mayo could easily be the better player in the long run, but I think depending on who drafts him, his NBA career will probably mostly be spent at the SG spot.

You're Rose pick was even worse than my Thabeet pick. Rose falling out of the top ten is like saying the Patriots haven't scored a touchdown this year.

Hasheem Thabeet will not go that high if he continues to be a one-dimensional shot-blocker. If he decides to play some offence who knows? But do you really think the Knicks will pick him when Isiah built a team around Eddy Curry? I doubt it. Their better off getting a small forward like Gallinari.

No, I definitely don't, but if he does get some offense then I could see New York possibly make a move like that. Gallinari would probably be a better pick, yeah.

Plus Rose could play off the ball some. He is kind of like a more PG version of D-Wade. He would fit in really well with Durant.

I'm drooling at the thought of Rose and Durant together. I doubt Seattle takes Beasley with our new philosophy Presti has brought in. I'm hoping its either Rose if we have a top3 pick, or Eric Gordon if we have a late lottery selection. Gordon is a Presti type player, and would be a nice fit with this team.
Thats if they come out of college after this year.

ehhh.

this was before I watched his first collegiate game, now I have Rose as the 2nd or 3rd pick in this years draft

also watch out for John Riek,he is in a loophole where they are trying to decide which graduating class he belongs too...if he belongs to last year's class he'll spend this year at prep school then be able to enter the NBA Draft

He currently is Ranked #5 right now for their class of 08
hes 7ft2 240 lbs.
If he dominates in prep school he might just go in the Top 3 this year for the sake of him being a 7ft2 240 lb whos developing on offense and defense but already is an athletic rebounder and good shotblocker

think Saer Sene but 30 lbs heavier and more experience in American basketball
