I never thought about doing this thread until recently, but I have a question. Who is the softer MVP Dirk or KG? On the real I've been a KG fan for the longest, but the dude runs from responsiblity. I used to think he was better than Duncan. "If only he had help." The fact is Duncan steps up when need be. In '05 it was Ginobili who should have won the Finals MVP and Parker played better, but even though Tim did'nt dominate he made key plays. KG fails to raise his game the way Tim does. DIrk is just a cake.
dirk plays primarily on the outside and hangs out around the 3 pt line a majority of the time, but not as much as he used to...when he drives to the bucket, he gets knocked down a lot and is goofy as crap when he gets tripped up...
KG is not soft he doesn't choke like Dirk. When he was in the WCF and the point guard was injured who kept the T-wolves in it? KG, he actually ran point guard for part of the game. KG is not soft and you say that no one Dirks team can create their own shot, Josh Howard, Jason Terry? What are you talking about?

i had to applause your post just now...i dont know how many times ive told people that KG ran the point in the WCF when cassell and hudson were injured and he carried the team on his back...it was him vs 4 future HOFers in that series btw.
the funny thing is Duncan will score 10 pts but has Ginobli and Parker to always take over in the 4th and in the clutch and he gets all the credit.
Garnett has no one on his team and Dirk plays with no one who can create their own shot.
Until this year, Duncan and Ginoboli took over in the 4th quarter. Most of the 4th Parker was on the bench. Parker even said himself, in interviews, that he hoped that one day he would get to the point where Pop trusted him like he trusted Ginoboli in the 4th quarter.
Duncan gets alot of credit because he draws double teams to get his shooters open shots. If they don't double him, he gets easy baskets and opposing bigs in foul trouble.
Dirk plays with no-one who can create their own shot? Terry, Howard, Stack, Harris.... the majority of their system is based around iso plays.

stackhouse doesn't really drive anymore. terry scores off pick and rolls with dirk primarily. howard scores mainly off jumpers and harris mainly just drives off pick and rolls and isos. None of those guys can really just have the ball on their own and just get to the hole at will like Ginobli can.
Dirk is def softer... Duncan gets his players shots...He distorts team's defenses with his mere presence.... And now people act as it Terry and Howard suck...Nope, Howard is one of the only MAv's that showed up against GSW...

Driving to the basket isn't the only way to create your own shot. Sometimes creating your own shot is a pullup jumper or a 3-pointer..etc. It just means you don't have to wait for somebody to pass you the ball in your sweetspot to score. Terry, Howard, Harris and Stack can create their own shots.
The T-wolves only won one game against Golden State this season and lost the rest...
that has nothing to do with what would happen if SJax guarded KG, b/c KG would back him down and score on him every time...
and didnt dallas lose to a team from golden state in the playoffs??? how many games did dallas lose to GS throughout the regular season and playoffs? at least 6 games, right?
