thinking about all these free agents and who the bulls might sign just made wonder how the bulls signed nocioni a few years ago..........i'm just curious about how that works...........bulls signed nocioni straight out of europe while manu had to put his name in the draft and thatz how he got drafted by the spurs...............is it like a certain age limit that if you pass the age requirement you can sign as a free agent?........how come other european players have to enter their name in the draft while others can just sign straight to a certain team?..........also, does that apply only to euro players or anybody?
Noc went undrafted and that's why we were able to sign him straight. Everyone has to put their name into the draft, but if you aren't drafted you can do whatever you want. That's why Randolph Morris was able to go back to college and play last year.
He was relatively unknown - Ginobili was the only person that had made any headlines on the Argentinian team. Like lurch said, the Spurs would have drafted him if they didn't get bad information, but the Spurs only look at international players, so you can't really count them.
